When you go 3-7 in the last 10 games and you continue to do that, you ain't going anywhere spectacular that may result in a run to challenge for the NL East. We still suck and until we fix that horrible pitching, any hopes of a post-season are fool's gold.

No way was he going to be rehired
Last year of contract and as @Retroram52 pointed out the way the Phillies were losing it was a foregone conclusion that Giraldi was going to get clipped at some point

Yep, That bastard has yet to change the way the Dildoes do business and his farm system remains a continued shithole of a mess. He doesn't go after top pitching talent when they become available and he routinely goes dumpster diving in a feeble attempt to find talented pitching. And, nobody wants to go to Philadelphia to have their careers wrecked because of the toxicity that is a major undercurrent there.
