Is this good or bad or meaningless for the big club?

Meaningless, really. Players with Mathers' skill set have been rendered obsolete, and Pettersson was always a long-shot to ever have any impact at the NHL level.

28. For Flyers fans: people who know junior hockey more than I do (and there is a long line of such people) are on the Travis Konecny trade watch in the OHL.

(I can't post the link without the video automatically embedding)

Would be very nice to see Konecny get to the Memorial Cup and tear it up with a powerhouse team.

Also, my 100% speculation is that maybe Ottawa doesn't expect Konecny to be in the OHL next year and will trade him this year while they can.

Funny that Conner and Straka have better stats than Leier but they brought up Leier.
Conner was a depth signing for the AHL and the knock on Straka is that he isn't defensively responsible. I thought he did ok in a brief call up last year but Leier may actually have a future with the team.

I am good with anyone and I mean anyone who will make this team better I don't care if its Straka or Leier or even jay Rosehill as long as it makes us better.

I must say, for as much hate at the Goulbourne pick got, he sounds like an exciting, fast bottom 6 option of the future. Could rejuvenate an otherwise bland checking line(s).

He really does. And the crazy thing is, he took his first minor this past weekend and it was for a VERY questionable (according to Meltzer) embellishment call. That's some serious discipline for a guy that makes his name agitating.

Its amazing how many bottom 6 guys are in the system compared to top 6 guys. The defense is finally moving from an abundance of 3rd pairing guys to top 4 guys (hopefully).

Ghost's stats in the Ahl and Nhl are very similar right now:

Ahl: 14 games 2 goals 8 assists 10 points -2

Nhl: 14 games 5 goals 4 assists 9 points +1

You could argue that he's doing better with the big club.
