That is a very good question. I would have loved to have seen GT play Colorado in 1990 when we had split the title with them.

Bowden had a ton of games with the national title on the line and lost. Oklahoma in 1980. All those wide rights and a wide left vs scUM. 96 and 97 vs UF, 98 vs Tennessee, 93 vs Notre Dame, etc.

People bash Bowden for being a coward but he was really being smart. Joining the weak ACC allowed him to rack up wins and put his team near the top every year.
