Like i said when i created this thread. Brady is the luckiest qb ever while Peyton is one of the unluckiest.

Marvin Harrison
Reggie Wayne
Dallas Clark
Damariyus Thomas
Wes Welker
Julius Thomas

Yeah. He just can't catch a break.

BTW, Marvin Harrison played three years in Indy before Peyton got there. He never had more then 73 catches, 866 yards and 8 touchdowns. Then Peyton gets drafted and he immediately puts up 115-1663-12 and the rest is history. Peyton turned Marvin into an all time great. Dallas Clark was a Peyton product who only had one year of over 1000 yards and did nothing without Peyton. Demaryius was a bust before Peyton came to Denver. Brady had Welker and Julius is a Peyton product.

Bull shit bull shit and bull shit.

Receivers take a few years to develop into stars. Harrison, Wayne & Thomas were first round picks for a reason. The only guy on that list you could make a claim is a "Peyton product" is Julius Thomas, but he was a friggn' all-conference tight end this year. I suppose a rookie Andrew Luck was the only reason Wayne was any good too? :rolleyes2:

Some great QBs have also had great receivers. Steve Young & Kurt Warner are two of 'em. But Manning has had one of the 3 best sets of receivers of any HOF QB to ever play.

It doesn't take away from Manning's greatness, but he's still one of the most fortunate QBs in the history of the league.

Harrison is one of the 5 best WRs to ever play for the love of crap!
Thomas is one of the 3 to 7 best receivers in the NFL right now.
Welker is still a pro bowl caliber receiver.
Wayne is a HOFer.

Julius Thomas... yet to be determined.

It's never been that he chokes in guaranteed wins. It's that against decent defenses in close games he gets bested too often.

Gimme games aren't worth debating.

oh my god, your avatar.

Marvin Harrison played 3 years without Peyton and was a mediocre receiver at best. Peyton gets drafted and all of a sudden he blows up and becomes one of the G.O.A.T.S. Coincidence? I doubt it. Brady also had Welker. Clark was a nobody without Peyton. To me the only player who has proven he can put up the same production with out Peyton is Reggie Wayne. Everyone else is unproven without Peyton or couldn't produce without him.

Hey JDM against top ranked defenses he is actually 3-1 record wise with a 6-2 touchdown-interception ratio. I think he does just fine against them.

Peyton Manning was a product of the talent around him. That's why they dominated the year he was gone.

try reading the article

I wasn't addressing the article. I was addressing the incorrect statement that Manning is unlucky by bringing up another issue. He, Steve Young & Kurt warner are probably the 3 most fortunate QBs ever when it comes to receivers.

the article talks about how UNLUCKY he has been. read the article. Luck consists of more than who your WRs are.

who was brandon stokley without peyton? austin collie? blair white? marvin? Dallas clark? Jacob Tamme? Julius Thomas? DT and Decker were unproven. EVEN MARVIN did nothing prior to peyton. its not like he was lighting up the league, he was a middle of the road WR.

its not like he was gifted people who were already hall of famers. if you play with peyton you look great. thats pretty much how it goes. now some of them actually are really good, but a lot of them couldn't do shit without peyton throwing them the ball.

No shit. It's probably the second biggest factor behind the quality of the QB's O-lines though.

maybe things that happen during games... missed field goals? awful special teams? bad drops? defenses getting torn apart in the 4th quarter by billy volek?

have you read the article?

QB's mom or dad can sit on sidelines and comfort them . Wipe tears, rub ointment on redness or just a hug
