I think you're a little old for that to go well :D

I might die of oxygen deprivation but it won't be lack of heart. There are ways to make up for age. :fencing:

Perine will do well given the chance. Watched almost every game in college and he can be a beast. Patience boys

I don't think Perine is the answer to Washington's running game. Oklahoma's other back, on the other hand, Joe Mixon, looks much better and could have a decent career.

I'm not sure which one you're talking about, but I think Mixon can change directions when running which is a key to longevity. Perrine may be a "bull," but that type usually doesn't last long.

Well given the choice I too would've preferred Mixon as well but happy to have samaje

I am not to sure about the longevity thing because Bettie lasted forever. Terrell Davis didn't.

Maybe Mixon changes direction better but these highlights are awesome, and he can change direction.

College doesn't count. I've watched both on the field as pros. Only thing I consider.

I am not sure how you came to that conclusion by their professional careers. Neither has done anything.

Statistically, Perine has been better and has done it when the other team knew it was coming. Mixon has done it while nobody expects a run because they have been blown out twice.

I think you would have been better leaving out the pro part. It is totally fine to like Mixon more but don't give BS reasoning.

Two games and you know who they huh?

Mixon - 17 carries 45 yards 2.6, yard per carry average
Perione - 21 carries 67 yards, 3.2 yards per carry average

By that you would have to give a slight edge to Perine.

For starters I don't believe that the Redskins are looking for Perine to be the total answer at RB. They already have Thompson for 3rd down & for the occasional long runs. Kelley is still in the mix since his injury is not that serious. Perine is likely considered more of a complimentary back & certainly one to look for in short yardage situations which is something the Redskins desperately need given their red zone issues. It is also highly likely that the Redskins look for another RB in the next draft.

BTW - you never know about RBs until you give them a few years. Guys that are hyped (e.g. Mixon) don't always pan out & RB - more than most positions - makes stars out of guys who are drafted late or possibly not at all. Stocky guys like Perine have also succeeded in the NFL.

Ehh I would argue in a very very small sample mixon definitely looks better so far.

I've watched a lot of pro football in my life. Mixon will have a better career unless injuries intervene. Just my opinion.

No one said Mixon might not have a better career. You said you watched both on the field as pros, that's two games. I presented evidence that shows to this point he has not shown he is better.

We had a couple of guys here who wanted us to draft Mixon. There were a number of us who preferred we didn't because one more angry outburst and we would have no one. If he never has that outburst and he proves to be the better running back as their careers go on then we were wrong.

Oh...that is fine to believe. I just wanted to see your reasoning. Comparing their professional careers was BS at this point. Had you mentioned vision, illusiveness, speed, or some other comparative device you would be fine.

I had originally mentioned that I thought Mixon was better at changing direction than Perrine who seemed to be more of a straight away runner.

Take Franco Harris, one of the great NFL runners. I never really thought he was great until I saw him in person. He knew when to cut, change directions, and spin out of the grip of others. That's what made him great.

I just see that in Mixon.

Time will tell. Injuries and Roger Goodell have a way of changing careers.

As can the impact of the offensive line. Last I checked the Redskins had at least a top 10 O line & they appeared to run block very well last Sun. The Bengals O-line is considered to be one of the 2-3 worst in the NFL at this time. They appeared to be enamored with skill positions in the last draft & appear to have neglected the O line which needs major help.

Will everyone leave me alone on Perrine and Mixon. I just gave an opinion and some of you want to hire Tom Cruise and his mission impossible team to find out the truth. My thoughts are an opinion, nothing more. Peace, peace.
