Really?? This is the measure that you're going with? Stats are nice, but the eye test accounts for a lot in player evaluation. How will stats account for allusiveness? Ability to get that extra yard when another cannot? Making something out of nothing? Blocking ability or receiving capabilities?

DILLY, DILLY !!!

I believe Mixon is better than Cook as well.

That being said, Krus is right if we are just looking at the first two weeks. Mixon has shown literally nothing.

I was going to write something like this myself, but instead here's his draft analysis, see for yourself and be convinced that we are among a majority in the NFL who do not have a feature guy like this:

BTW: before I get the expected, "if he's so good why can't he start in Cincy? question, short answer is that Coaches handle rookies differently, some start right away, others don't, even when the more talented rookie is in place. Trust is generally the reasoning.

ANYWAY THIS IS HIS DRAFT PROFILE:

Strengths
Outstanding burst to go from first level to third level. Goes from glide to burst quickly and can hit chunk plays between tackles and around corners. Can go from elusive to banger when he needs to. Will drop the pads and drive through tacklers in short yardage spots. Flashy feet for his size. Can jump-cut around defenders in tight quarters. Smooth hips help him swivel around the second and third levels. Able to show and go leaving linebackers diving as he escapes out of the side door. Strong stiff-arm helps would-be tacklers catch grass stains. Can turn the corner and create a straightaway to the end zone. Was Big 12 leader in percentage of explosive carries (15-plus yards) at 11.9 percent. True three-down back. Devastating pass catching option. Excellent route runner creating immediate separation. Soft hands to make the easy catch and the one-hander. Will step in and square up his blocking responsibilities in pass game.

No. You are preaching to the choir. I never said Mixon wasn't better than anybody else. I was questioning a person's reasoning for a statement.

Maybe we should re-examine the definition of the word "better"

Yeah there are so many factors that affect success that it's impossible to be correct all the time. For instance a player could be drafted into a climate, culture, or city that he personally hates. That can definitely impact on success. It's not something that's talked about a lot because players generally don't want to cause problems with the fans.

Based on my own life experiences, if I was a player, draft eligible, the only places I would want to go are Cleveland, any Texas or California franchise.

Wow - then you would be one of the few players who actually wanted to go to CLE (for now - they have tons of picks in the upcoming draft & could me much improved in a few years).

BTW - another factor is the system of the team & their coach. The perfect example of this is Demarco Murray. He thrived in DAL & is doing well in Nashville. However - he was pretty bad in PHI & you can put a large part of that on Chip Kelly and the system they ran.

I grew up in Cleveland and have loyalty to the Browns. Not to the city or the weather.

Agree with you on the system. It's a big factor often unlooked at. Troy Aikman switched from Oklahoma to USC because of it.

Perine will be the bell cow next week hopefully. He has quicker feet in traffic than Kelly and I want to see what he does in the open field with a defender. As you saw yesterday, Kelly has zero shake!

Here is an opportunity young man! Go get it!!!
