Just read Daniels doesn't expect to make major moves at the deadline because we expect to get our entire rotation back shortly after the AS break. I know that we have these young arms in the system, but I wonder if we still go out and get another top of the rotation guy. The two names that jump out at me are Grienke and Hamels. Word is that if Hamels is kept then Lee might be shopped. I don't want Lee here, fuck him. But if he is on the market maybe that helps get Grienke a little easier since Zack might be second option for most teams? Lewis is free after this year, so we have at least one spot open. We potentially have Perez, Ross, Grimm, and a few other guys that could become that 5th starter. Or we could go out and get another #1 ace (granted, which will cost a lot) for help this year and to pair with Dutch and Yu for a very potent top three followed by Harrison and whomever slots into the #5. That 5 could be Feliz or any of the young guys I listed or even some #5 FA pitcher in the offseason.

It's not my money, so I'm on board with trying to get an established Ace in here. We have a few Ace caliber guys in Holland and Yu (and looks like Harrison some times) and I love that. Compliment those two/three with a proven Ace and all of a sudden people are looking at Texas again as the best rotation and the best three man playoff rotation.

Hard to say. I could see Daniels doing nothing as getting all our arms back right after the break would be like multiple huge acquisitions, or he could be playing things close to the chest.

According to mlbtraderumors, Texas has scouts in Milwaukee to watch grienke today. Daniels is saying one thing but the moves indicate something else

I don't know what I would be willing to part with for Grienke considering what he is going to cost in contract after this year. However, he seems to be a legit pitcher and I love having those on our team. Maybe he is scouting him just on the chance that we can make an offer MKE likes without giving up our top guys. Who knows, but it sure is nice to be on the buying side and not selling side!

Don't know what I'd give up either but going into the second half with Oswalt, Darvish, Grienke, Harrison and Holland as our starters with Ogando, Feliz, Nathan, Adams, Uehara, Ross and Lowe in the pen would be great.

They won't be releasing Lewis.

That's the issue for this year, but not so much next year. No idea this year.

They've already said Feliz goes back to the pen once he comes off the DL

He's only going back to the pen for the remainder of the season I'm sure. He'll be given another opportunity to start next year.

Yeah, but Oswalt has filled that spot. As for next year, Lewis wouldn't be resigned if we picked up someone this year.

Pretty sure they wouldn't go for that.

We kinda did that this year with Feldman making spot starts to give an extra round of rest for the younger guys. 6 man rotation would take care of that.

Exactly. Wonder if Milwaukee would consider Murphy, Feldman and others for Greinke

I'm betting they'd want some combination of possibly those two with someone like Olt, Profar, Ramirez, Perez. Could get way to steep very quickly.

Yeah, considering the package they gave up and how it depleted their system, they are going to want all young guys to load up their system. I bet they would want one of the four listed and then a big run on our AA and below guys that they think have a higher ceiling and they can get more quantity.

Could see a package centered around Olt and one of the top pitching prosepcts, but I wouldn't go much bigger than that

I'd just assume pass on any big name pitching at the trade deadline and keep our organizational depth

We have great organizational depth but right now our ml level starting pitching very very thin. We basically have Darvish, Oswalt and Harrison
