The @NYRangers recalled G Magnus Hellberg from Hartford. No practice today but hope to get an update on Henrik Lundqvist later this morning.
Dun dun dun...
Obviously visual acuity is pretty much essential to his position, .
I imagine the issue is likely a scratched cornea, so predicting when he'll be ready is a crap shoot. Obviously visual acuity is pretty much essential to his position, and it's super uncomfortable too. Never shake the feeling of something being in your eye. That said, I can also see this being gamesmenship/practice player kinda move. But really, eye injuries are a bit beyond my scope. That's definitely one I just refer away and listen to the doc.
THAT's your reason for hating Edmonton, among the hundreds or even thousands of other possible reasons?/which leads me to my "why I hate Edmonton" story. Went there once on business and gouged, not scratched, my eyeball. Hurt like a mother____. I hate Edmonton.

With playing 7D last night, he became the PP specialist, really. He also didn't take a shift in the third, which was odd. Also of note - Justin Schultz with 5:52 of ice time last night. As previously mentioned, you limit his minutes, you limit the damage.
Agreed about the cornea. We were discussing it while the trainer was putting drops in his eyes. Good think about a scratched eyeball is that it will be a long way back to normal within 48 hours, and the initial pain (and it is frickin' awful) abates after 24 hours.
If that is indeed his injury and there was no other damage, he might miss Game 2 but should be fine for Game 3.

The King is fine...he will be in net, suck, then get pulled
The Penguins played 7D last game, and you think that would be better than Evgeni effing Malkin? Crazy people. The lines this AM were what I'd roll with:
Hornqvist-Sid-Kunitz
Rust (if ready)-Geno-Sheary
Kessel-Bonino-Hagelin
Kuhnackel-Cullen-Fehr
Sportsnet is just the worst. The. Worst. I was so sad when Rogers won the bid... Though I don't mind the free NHL gamecenter for all my Pens games.
Also, why are you playing all the wingers on their wrong side? If Rust is ready I would put him back with Cullen, those two plus Kuhn were killing it. Then Geno could rotate minutes between Fehr/Sheary, and take a few spots in Kunitz's spot. With everyone healthy I think this would kill it:
Sheary / Crosby / Hornqvist
Kunitz / Malkin / Bennett or Fehr
HBK
Kuhn / Cullen / Rust
I don't touch the bottom two lines unless they start slouching, but the top two could vary depending on who's clicking. Thought Sheary looked dangerous every shift with 87.
