It really sucks when someone gets hurt in a scrimmage. It was real fun basketball to watch.

Uugh. Might be a "pick up the pieces" year for the Pacers. First Lance Stephenson leaves and now this. Maybe we could clear some salary, get West and Hibbert to opt out and take more long-term money, and maybe perhaps make a run at Rondo in free agency this time next year.

That was no ankle, looked more like a tib/fib compound fracture. His leg broke above his sock.

At least now we won't have so many obnoxious haters this year. After all, the fairweather fans only hate us we we're good. Because these said fans know that if we beat their team (the Heat in previous years, the Cavs, Bulls or Knicks going forward), they know they won't be a fan of that team anymore.:lame:

To me, this isn't about a Pacer, this is about a kid playing for my team, team USA. I feel for Pacers fans, I sure know what its like watching your star player go down, being from Chicago and a Bulls fan.

Very serious and very gruesome. This is like Kevin Ware level bad. Hopefully its not career threatening.

That very well can be career ending. His bones were sticking out of his leg. Only thing holding his lower leg on was some skin

I could be completely wrong but I thought complete breaks are easier to fix

You are wrong. He is going to need surgery to insert plates, bars and screws into his bone to reattach them. Those always will be in pain. There will be nerve damage, dont know how much damage, but there can be total damage. My friend did that playing football in high school and cant feel anything lower than his knee. My mom fell through a wooden deck and did something close and the screws cause so much pain she needs a walker and is now considered handicap.

Now back in 1998 Bryant Young had a similar break from Ken Norton Jr's helmet into his leg. He had 3 surgeries to insert medal rods into his leg. The game happened near the end of the season too. It took him all off season to recover, but he got back in time for game 1 and was almost as dominate as he was before the break. So I have seen it both ways.

Seriously doubt its career ending. If its simply broken bones he'll be good as new in a few months. Speaking from experience on this.

I just got back from seeing Guardians of the Galaxy and was still pretty pumped up (great movie) but seeing this totally killed the mood. Saw it on youtube and on some vines, just a terrible injury. He's done for at least 8 months. But the good news is if its just a clean break, they'll likely insert a rod and he'll be able to make a full recovery. Terrible freak injury though. It could happen at any time on any court. Prayers for a speedy recovery

If it eight months he could be back by April just in time for the playoffs.
