I think I have the worst grasp on what they're likely to do in this draft that I've had in years. I really just have no idea. Part of that is having no idea who will still be available, guys draft stocks are all over the place, it feels like nobody knows what's going to happen this time around.

I was thinking DE or LB unless a stud WR falls that far. Hunter, Allen or Patterson.

I was Really hoping they would make a play for Heyward-Bey, I have a feeling he is really going to thrive with Luck. Colts will be an offensive force again.

Best player available. If a good corner, wide receiver, or safety falls those are our biggest needs, but I don't see the blatant holes we've had the last few years. Trading down seems a waste when I'm not sure how many roster spots are available. I'd lean toward either trading into the future or maybe jumping up a couple spots for the right guy if the moves there.

Thats what I was thinking as well, trade up for the right guy or trade out of this year.
I really don't see any glaring holes, although the spots you mentioned could use some improvement.
That coupled with the receivers this year do not "wow" me. Allen, Hunter, Paterson...the kid from WV. They all have something that needs work or improvement or a deffeceincy.
Height, build, hands, grasp of the game...

About the only positions that won't impact them immediately (given the right player) are QB and OL, and even OL that's questionable. Biggest needs are obviously CB, DE and WR, but they are in a position to look for impact guys regardless of position.

Exactly. Impact guys, not volume.

We need a solid draft.. we do not have a lot of pics so quality definately trumps quantity. First round in in just a few days we will have our answers shortyl and we can blast or laud the picks as we see fit!

most of the talking heads have us still picking a CB in the first round.. i still think it will depend on whos available but its a deep DB draft unless they figure out a way to move up and get vaccario from texas.. and yes i cant spell...

Off the wall prediction:
Pats trade #1 pick to somebody for their 3rd rounder this year, and a 2-3 rounder next year.

Last year was an exception in actually keeping their 1st round picks. Usually they unload them.

That would be one hell of a bad trade. If they take two thirds, they're just plain stupid. If they take a 3rd this year, it needs to be a 1st next year (given what I'm hearing about the poor quality of this draft, that wouldn't be a bad move). If they trade for a 2nd round pick, they need a guarantee that it's a high second - it needs to be this year.

Well... I was close.

Maybe... the pick they traded out of was used for Cordarelle Patterson, who most would've said would be *the* elite WR prospect in this draft.

With 4 picks tonight I'll take;

Justin Hunter
Margus Hunt
Tyrann Mathieu

In whichever order Bill feels fit.

And if he is still there that ND linebacker with a fake girlfriend.

DE/OLB Jamie Collins is the pick at 52. He's listed as an LB but he's a pure edge rusher type with very good measurables and decent production. I don't know much else about him.

EDIT: I think I like the Collins pick better than Hunt? Hunt's athleticism is AMAZING but his production is not... and when you have an incredible athlete not putting up big numbers, that's a big red flag to me.
