Maybe it was just one game but who is going to put pressure on opposing QB's this year? Maybe they just came out flat but that D got gashed in the run game and passed on all night long. Alex Smith threw for close to 400 yards and had an 80 percent completion rate. Wow!

I think after what they did in the SB followed by a whole offseason of praise, combined with the first few drives of the game, they lost focus a bit.

Like some people have said, the Saints better watch out.

When was the last time a Belichek team gave up 42?

Hint: He wasn't on the Pats sideline.

I dont who or why people thought this was an elite defense to begin with

This team will and must be carried by that offense, and I wouldnt be too concerned with that just yet

But if we are seeing a lesser version of Gronk, that would change things a lot...But it could just be rust, we will see

Or it could be an offense that teams see have two weapons outside of the 5 yard line...Gronk and Cooks. Dedicate safety help to each and let everyone else man up. See if any of the other weapons are reliable enough to sustain a 10 play drive.

In the 4th Q, Tom looked old an slow. Not saying it will be a trend, it is just what I witnessed. Father time catches up to all of us. Maybe this is the year it catches Tom.

Agreed, and Cooks is a homerun hitter, just like with the Saints, 3/88 is a common stat line for him, he isnt a high volume pass catcher, and that offense is predicated on high volume guys, like of course, Edelman...With Amendolas' inability to stay on the field, and Hogan IMO not really that guy, they will be interesting to watch

There are weapons on the team, I'm just not sure if those weapons can reliably make play after play. Gronk and Edelman catch almost everything their way. Guys like Allen can and will make plays, but at the same rate those other guys? Not sure. I'd play a prevent style defense against the Pats O except for the Cooks and Gronk and just dare the other guys to beat me.

Pats will be fine. KC is one of the 5 or 6 best teams in the league. Fir some reason people love to discount it overlook them but it's not shocking NE lost. The spread of the game was what was shocking to me , and also why I'm 1200 bucks richer today lol

It is a bit of a shame that no one in that division can threaten them, even if they have a subpar season
