One of the craziest games ever was the 16 TT/OU game. Each team ended with 854 total yards, and OU won 66-59. Mayfield and Mahomes were virtually unstoppable.

And IIRC, those two were at the same school for a short period of time...along with Davis Webb. It was obvious there wasn't going to be enough footballs to go around and keep everyone happy. Stidham was also in the wings and originally committed to Tech before the evil Briles "persuaded" him to head down to Jerusalem on the Brazos.

Say what you will about Coach GQ (I've been as hard on him as anyone), but the guy can spot QB talent and develop it. Probably better at that than being a HC.

That first season (12) you had the 70-63 win over Baylor and the 48-45 win over Texas. You gave OU a scare as well.

I was at both the Baylor and OU games. They were crazy good. We should have beaten OU that year. Tavon Austin went off. Problem was we couldn’t stop Landry Jones. We lost 50-49. I still hate Kenny Stills.
