Questions are coming up about if Seattle needs help to reach the first seed and HFA throughout.

As it stand right now NO THEY DO NOT with an *.

IF GB, Seattle and Dallas all finish with 4 losses Seattle wins on the conference record tie breaker.

The ONLY way Dallas gets in over us is if GB loses again and it's just Dallas and us tied at the top. Any other ending and Seattle holds the tiebreakers.

Of course assuming they win out which isn't a given. This is strictly a conversation about the path at this point.

One more reason to hope for a Cowboy lost tonight.

Definitely. I hate the Eagles less than the Cowboys anyway. Just barely.

Just so everyone understands that. Head to head isn't a factor in a 3 way tie. It doesn't matter that Dallas holds an advantage over us with that as long as GB is also at the same record.

Of course Dallas losing tonight would mean you can remove that * and not care what any other team does the rest of the way. Seattle wins out the last two weeks and a Dallas loss and it doesn't matter what anyone else does, Seattle holds HFA as the 1 seed.

And in terms of wild card

If my math is correct...if we win 1 more game we secure a wild card spot

Lions, Packers, Eagles/Cowboys will have 10 wins by the end of the night.

We hold the tie breaker over Philly and GB. We are tied in conference records with Detroit but hold the edge in common opponents.

So unless Packers-Lions tie in week 17 then we should be guaranteed a playoff spot with 1 more win

Forgot to add that we still have the advantage over the Lions should they end up in a 3 way with us and Dallas instead of GB. It goes all the way down to common opponents and with GB/Car/NYG/Ariz the Lions went 2-2 and Seattle went 4-0.

Same holds true head to head. Lions can't take the advantage from Seattle in a tie. Losing to Carolina has it's downside.

It's a game were you wish the stadium would collapse on both teams, but would be great to see Dallas lose tonight.

It's nice to be able to control our own fate and not have to rely on other teams. Except tonight, we do need the Eagles win.

I think there's a good chance even if Dallas wins out with a GB loss that we'll still get the #1 seed. Remember Detroit is also 10-4. GB losing 1 game probably means they lose to Detroit week 17 and means Detroit wins out to get to 12

That would put us in the 3 way tie again and I believe we win those tie breakers too

I think the most important thing is to get a higher seed than the Packers, even if it means being the #2 seed behind the Cowboys.

I hope your right, because I do think the Lions win that game.

Yes. I posted elsewhere in this thread that we hold both the head to head and 3+ way tie breaker over the Lions due to common opponents. If you play at least 4 games with common opponents you use that after conf record. We each played NYG, Ariz, GB, and Carolina. We swept all 4 (at least until next week) and they went 2-2. As I said above, losing to Carolina has its penalty if the Lions win out and end up in a tie with us.

The ONLY team sitting on 4 losses we do not have the tiebreaker with is the cowpokes and that's only if it is head to head. If the eagles take this game that is over and we hold our own fate entirely.

BTW, just for the sake of being complete, not only do we have the head to head over the Eagles if they do beat the cowpokes, but also the first tiebreaker for any 3 way tie: conf record. Seattle is 8-2 and philly only 5-4.

So we own the tiebreaker over every single team that is 4 losses right now in a multi way tie. It's only Dallas we don't own and ONLY head to head. We still own them in a multi.
