Why should Wentz have a bigger leash? If the coaches wanted Wentz, shouldn’t they extend the leash if they want? What has Wentz done to make you think he deserves a longer leash? It is not his familiarity with the offense that has made him look bad. It is the same thing that has plagued him everywhere he has been that makes him look bad, no pocket presence and a lack of accuracy when pressured (he hears footsteps). He also has six fumbles.

Wentz was 2-4. If we make it to 6-6, you don’t think we should roll with the 4-2 QB?

He is almost a 30-year-old QB who had a full offseason and preseason. He should be picking up the system now.

Again, as all posters have said, the same issues that plagued him in Philly and Indy are still present: poor decision-making, inaccuracy, and holding on to the ball too long.
In the end, it will end his career as this is probably his last chance at starting in the league.

Wentz is not missing open WRs and his timing is not off. Those things come from being a in a new offense. Wentz cant feel pressure and once he gets hit, he feels pressure that isn’t there. That is who Wentz is. Wentz is garbage.

Excellent point on the QB search. I am not sure what to entirely believe but here are stories that have broke.

Dan wanted Wentz
Rivera/Mayhew literally called every team asking about QBs
Gibbs helped Rivera over an entire weekend to identify Wentz
Rivera wanted Garapollo but he opted to have surgery and Rivera went with plan B (Wentz)

I believe you nailed it on the head because he was the only realistic option. Wilson doesn't want to play here, Jimmy G preferred surgery to coming here, and Watson didn't want to come here either. That really just leaves Wentz.

I think Gibbs basically told Rivera that Wentz was the only real shot. Somebody then cooked up a story and claimed that Wentz was the focus of the search. Again, while I love Joe Gibbs, his evaluation of talent took a nose dive for me after recommending Jim Zorn as the HC.

In Dean's world, Wentz was the ONLY piece this team needed to get to 11 wins. He repeatedly said that Wentz would jump-start Turner's subpar and ineffective offense. After Week 1 Dean posted "We found out Quarterback".

Of course it was fool's gold and as Skinsdad pointed out, Wentz's career shows you what you are getting. In the end, I think fans/coaches think they have the formula to fix Wentz. Wentz doesn't need to see the field again and I am sure Rivera is thinking about that.

Good point. This offseason is HUGE. Part of me thinks our end record won't really matter as we all know what needs to be addressed and fixed.
