The fact you have to ask who the other schools are, tells me you don’t follow CFB too closely.

How many would you like to me list?
Ohio State
Michigan
Penn State
Michigan State
Nebraska
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Florida
Georgia

Should I keep going?

Yeah, why not, this is entertaining. I've already addressed half your list.

Minnesota is 2-0 vs Alabama and Auburn in the 21st Century. Why would Fleck feel the need to go to Auburn to win when he just beat them with basically his first recruiting class at Minny? lol That's just moronic of you. And to have to compete head to head with Bama? Oh, and Bama doesn't need a new coach, so... there is that.

Didn't know Georgia or Florida or LSU were looking for new coaches? Ever consider that Fleck's high energy personality might not like sweltering heat?

And he is NOT going to move to another B1G school, most likely EVER, much less in the short term. Head Coaches don't do that very often, it's frowned upon. And for a guy who puts such a high value on integrity and honesty and principled living, well, you continue to want to ignore that aspect of Fleck. But that's ok, I find your babble to be so ridiculous it's hilarious.

Oh, and you included NEBRASKA on your list??? Oh, I get it, you honestly think that Fleck is a moron. You must, you have to, to think that #1, Nebraska is a better job than Minnesota, and #2, that anyone would leave Minnesota to go to Nebraska.

WOW

Dude, nothing homerish about it. Simple fact, without a Great Coach, no amount of recruiting can help a school, especially when those 45 California Top 500 recruits probably want to play for a good coach, not for the loser their local supposed blue blood hired.

Lets count them?

Minnesota has just Wisconsin and Iowa to recruit against for the players in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

USC has Cal, UCLA, Stanford, SDSU, SJSU, Fresno St, BYU, Utah, Ariz, ASU, UNLV, Nevada, Oregon, Oregon St, Utah St.

That is 16 schools vying for those 16 Top 150 players, and that is if you ignore all the programs from around the country who also recruit California. If USC doesn't have a great coach, they won't be getting the lions share of those players, if hardly any of them, and if they do, they won't do anything with them. What has USC done in the last decade? a 10-3 season is their best? WOW, Fleck has already outdone that twice. Just 2 Top Ten finishes in the last decade, as many seasons not even making the Top 25 as they did making it??? Wow, all of those recruiting advantages sure are doing them good, eh??? lol And it's not like it's other Cali or West Coast schools doing all the kicking arse, NO WEST COAST teams are dominating cfb right now.
If you expand out a little further, you got Wash, WSU, Boise St, NM, NMSU, Air Force, Col St, Wyoming. Is Portland St Div 1, probably just in bb?

Shall we look at Florida next? How well has Miami been doing lately? Or how about FSU? UCF? Their 15 minutes of fame have come and gone. UF is doing ok, but since Meyer left, have they even once made a serious challenge for the Title? Has ANY Florida team?

And Texas? lol Yeah, lets talk about Texas. Has a single Texas based team even made the cfp yet?

Btw, in the last 2 decades I know Minnesota, lowly Minnesota, has beaten Alabama, Ohio St, Auburn, and just barely lost to the best team TCU has had this century, and we also played USC pretty close, all but the Auburn game BEFORE we had Fleck.

No one is recruiting Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. It is a waste of resources. So not sure why you are naming those states?

I stand corrected. I’m surprised Saban hasn’t left Alabama to go to Minnesota.

That is part of the positives for Minnesota. It's a waste of resources for other schools to come here, so it could get to the point that Fleck gets them all, but it's not as much of a waste of resources for UMn to go where the recruits are as they are all in the same places.

And no, Saban has no reason to leave Alabama, as long as he likes the weather down there, which apparently he does. I'm not pimping Minnesota as THE destination or THE best job out there. Just good enough that we'll be able to keep Fleck for a lot longer than you apparently think so.

He already turned down FSU this off season.

UMn has everything any good coach could want, except a ton of recruits in our backyard, but dude, it's the 21st Century, recruiting out of state players has been going on for a very long time, the Gophers had out of staters they recruited on their last Natl Title team. It's not hard to get people from all over the country, and the world, to come to a world class university, if that university makes them feel wanted and welcome.

And Fleck has shown he both knows how to find the diamonds in the rough and he knows how to develop players.

I've already got the Michigan game next year penciled in as a win for the Gophers!!! ;)

Nebraska fans take everything so literal.

Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota have two players in the top 500 recruits combined.

The fact you list 3 players for three states, should tell you all you need to know about how much time elite teams are spending recruiting those states.

What is crazy — Minnesota still has more in state talent than Nebraska.

"No one is recruiting Minnesota"

Except Alabama, Ohio St, Oklahoma, Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida St, Miami, Auburn, Penn St, Texas, USC, etc....

"you list 3 players for three states"

No. I listed 3 players for one state. All three of those players are from Minnesota.

"Minnesota still has more in state talent than Nebraska"

Minnesota also has nearly 3 times the population of Nebraska, it would be common sense that they have more talent in numbers.

You and ElTexen have got to be reach around buddies. It's like you spent your first 5 years chewing the paint chips off your crib rails and window sills before shooting yourself between the eyes with a nail gun at 10. You were lucky to survive the nail, however it was determined too risky to remove, and therefore remains lodged in place.
Even the Clemson 10 year average recruiting classes always being in the teens couldn't get thru the brain damage.

Hey TrustMeI'm wrong....

Do you think Mike Riley would be leading Clemson, Alabama, or Ohio St to the CFP or National Championship?

:yawning:

Again — maybe since Nebraska is in the same boat as Minnesota, and have little to no in state talent. They don’t realize states have big showcase camps for recruits. Kids in states with little to no talent travel to these camps to compete against kids from other states.
Michigan doesn’t recruit Rhode Island, but Kwity Paye was our best DE and we signed him out of RI, because they offered him after his performance at camp.

The fact this needs to be explained is kind of pathetic.

If you gave Mike Riley the Clemson, Alabama and OSU rosters — yeah — he could lead them to a CFP. Especially OSU and Clemson right now, as those two teams have WAY more talent than anyone near them in their conference.
If he has to recruit the players on his own at those schools — no clue.

Mike Riley won 10 games at Oregon State and 9 games at Nebraska. So he showed he can win games without elite talent.

Give him a roster at OSU and Clemson where he has more 5 star recruits than the rest of their conferences combined and no reason he couldn’t?!?

Now that isn’t nice. Are you still upset because you refuse to accept the reality of CFB today?

You shouldn’t be upset at UM fans, you should upset for the location of your school.

What reality? Your dumbassery has been debunked time and time again, you are the only one living in Imagination Land.

10 games vs the weak ass Pac, and 9 games vs the weak ass B1G West. WOW. Not impressed. The Big West has improved alot since then.
