If a team scores on their first shot of the game should they try to take more shots and score more goals or try to keep their high shooting percentage and prevent "misses"?

See, this is what I'm talking about. That is taking things to such ridiculous extremes it has no connection to the point I made.

This is among the worse talking I've read. The crap of NHL goalies being dressed like man of marshmallow in huge apparels is bringing down shootings for OV. Combination this with total garbage of NHL coaching for years down even to children and you have puck dying in crappiest NHL to date. Yet still OV is of more goals than ever he has scored!! Maybe if Gretzky is in this hell of terrible NHL he is scoring 8 goals a year most years. Except year of 200 goals of course.

SO, ... as we can see, and as I have been telling the Hockey world since 2009, Ovechkin's seeming skill in scoring goals is nothing more than a byproduct of him shoveling a dumptruck's worth of pucks at the net.

He is already 3rd in shots taken but only 8th in goals.
He is the owner of 7 of the top 30 seasons with the most shots yet only 1 of the top 30 seasons with most goals scored, and that one from shoveling a mind boggling 446 pucks at the net.

He leads all active players in shots, besting the number 2 Patrick Marleau (who just became a Penguin) by 1,257 shots, DESPITE Marleau being in the league EIGHT MORE YEARS.

Ovechgoon is simply not a sniper, but a machine gunner.

No I put credence in numbers and one of the first rules of numbers I learned was that I can make numbers do whatever I want them to. Yes Ovey has a low shot %, but to call his 700 goals a joke because of it is just having an idea and bending the numbers to prove your idea. Instead of letting the numbers tell their own story.

All I did was LIST the numbers. There was no manipulation of the numbers. No cherry picking of only part of the data set. This shows career totals, unmanipulated, and unvarnished truth. It's just time for people to admit it. When you get a ridiculous number of more chances to do the same thing others have done with far less, it isn't as impressive.

Meanwhile, Pissburgh fans are counting down Sidney Crosby’s chase to 2 million tampons. What a great difference in franchise player history: the Capitals get one of the greatest goal-scorers in history, who in his later years, chased down Wayne Gretzky’s career goal record, at a great pace. The Penguins get Ron Francis 2.0, who in his later years, struggles to avoid concussions.

You have still not addressed my earlier point. The number of chances that he gets is at least partly a reflection of his play. Nobody out there on the ice just gets handed chances.
