I guess the real question is, was Ovie expected to be something else? Wasn't his hype coming into the league as a pure goal scorer? Either way, 700 is pretty elite.

If you look at the players who are near the top of the board in shots every year, do you not notice that they are all pretty good players?

You are most certainly dealing with adults which goes directly to my post above - Let me ask you a question - What type of responses were you expecting with your thread title and initial post? The responses questioning your premise have been more than honest and you're just dismissing them out of hand. Methinks you just started this thread to get a rise out of people and mission accomplished I guess, but you'll find there's a low tolerance for name calling and personal attacks on this board. If you want to engage in a serious dialogue, that's great, but if not, well, maybe this isn't the forum for you.

If a team scores on their first shot of the game should they try to take more shots and score more goals or try to keep their high shooting percentage and prevent "misses"?

How did I dismiss anything out of hand? Please provide an example of what you mean because I really don't see where I am doing that. If anything, I see that being done to the points I rasised.
I fully expected some of this, because I had a similar thread years ago on this, on a different forum with over a million views, so believe me, I've probably heard all this before.
My purpose in this thread, was to show OV isn't as great as he is given credit for, and also admittedly get a rise out of OV fans.
