nothing too serious, fortunately.

2 graded concussions, probably a few more that i just 'walked off'
nose broken three times: one baseball, one hockey, and and once at a Judas Priest concert
nasty high ankle sprain playing baseball (slid into 2nd, caught a rut).
- couldn't walk properly after that one for a few months. Doc said a break would be easier.
lost a chicklet after a hockey stick in the mouth
random stitches after pucks in the chin, cheek, eyebrow (on separate occasions)
broke my finger, but didn't want to get it splinted during the playoffs. by the time I got to the doctor, it had healed too much to easily fix. So I have a little speed-bump on the bone. that knuckle always hurts, too.

Rough sport.

Rough sport.

I was 15 or 16. floor tickets, and me and a buddy wormed our way to first row.
Some monster wants the spots, tries to grab me off of the rail, but I had a good grip on the barricade. So he grabs my buddy instead, and launches him aout 6 rows back. he sidles up besides me, give me a grin, and then pistons about 6 elbows to my schnozz. So I lose my spot.
the good news is, because I was bleeding so fiercely, people tended to give me a bit of room in the pit. So I saw the show from about the 3rd row instead.

I had forgotten to mention some broken bones in my foot a couple of times from blocking slapshots.

I probably have the most embarrassing injury ever, and I am not sure I could live down posting it on here.

Nothing too major, dislocated patella (skiing and hockey), high ankle sprain (hockey)

Most embarrassing - Frisbee football (just horsing around), buddy threw a wicked slice, I was running full steam and ran right into the football sled.

Baseball - broke both wrists at the same time jumping over the outfield fence. Nose, bad hop playing third.

Basketball - dislocated R shoulder, broke collar bone. Came down awkward playing "street ball".

Football - Broke R hand, dislocated R shoulder (again). Got smoked not paying attention.

Hockey - Broke nose and many fingers because.....well, who didn't?

...and forget about all of the other surgeries, broken bones and stitches from stuff outside of sports.........that shit would take too fucking long.

Ok, I was about 7 or so and I was in my yard messing around. I saw a baby bird and I walked up to check it out. The mother bird starts to chase me, so I am running away from the damn thing like a mad man and I ran into a tree stump. So I walk around trying to keep the pain to myself so I dont have to explain what happened to my dad. After 3 days of limping my parents took me to the Dr and I had a broken knee cap. Try being in 2nd grade with a leg cast and explaining how a bird scared the shit out of you enough to break your knee.

Not an injury, but my brother once got chased by a goose at a golf course. Was pretty funny to see!

Rugby - Broken nose, bruised right quad/some nature of knee injury, probably at least one undiagnosed concussion

Frisbee - Bruised rips from running into an exercise bike when playing indoors, a nice knot on the back of my head from falling backwards onto a lamppost.

Football - Dislocated pinky at both joints and permanent swelling and tendon damage, a couple mild ankle sprains, and a broken scaphoid that was missed on the x-ray and then found a year later, required surgery to repair, and landed me in a cast for 17 weeks.

Basketball - 3 bad ankle sprains and several mild ones. All-told I've had 3 bad sprains and 16 mild ones across all the sports I've ever played. I had four of the mild ones and one bad one in a two-week span, and lost about a foot and a half off my vertical. I've only recovered a half foot since.

Cracked a rib playing high school intra mural hockey.

Separated shoulder playing pick-up hockey. I called a world class trainer that I knew and he had me come to his house during my lunch hour the next day. He checked my shoulder, said it was separated and told me to extend my arm out to my side, circle it back so that the palm of my hand was on my chest, while he put the shoulder back in place. He had me hold my hand there while he taped my shoulder. He told me to keep it taped for two weeks. I did referee a game two days after he set it. I have never had a problem with the should since.

Hit by wrist shot in the temple. Dr checked me out in the dressing room. Told me I had a mild concussion. I asked him if I could go back out and finish the game. He said that I could, but he wouldn't be responsible for my death. My partner finished the game by himself.

Stopped a slap shot in the gut that caused internal bleeding.

Sprained an ankle playing tennis. Was on crutches and had to referee a college game four days later. The Minnesota trainer taped my ankle before the game. Told him that I sprained it. He looked at it and said that it was a classic sprain and that he had guys on the football team who had bigger cocks than my ankle.

Slashed in head a couple of different times, while reffing, requiring me to go to emergency room for stitches.

Caught a slap shot to my jaw reffing a college game. Told by coach of the home team not to go to the hospital in St. Louis, he didn't trust the night shift. Sat with an ice pack to my jaw on the flight back from St. Louis to Minneapolis the next morning and went to emergency room for x-ray. Not broken, but a bad bruise. The game was in overtime and I finished it.

Was playing on my highschool basketball team. Grade 11. Well I boxed out my player going for a rebound who ended up falling on his fat ass. Got the rebound and just as i passed it I guess he was pissed off that I embarrassed him so he whirled around and elbowed me in the nose as hard as he could. Being that I have a high pain tolerance I just trotted up back the floor shaking my head to stop my head from spinning and next thing I knew I was gushing blood and it wouldn't stop. They had to stop the game and clean up the blood. Yeah I ended up breaking my nose in 2 spots. The guy never ended up apologizing.

Also tons of sprained ankles and fingers while I played. Didn't bother me, more annoying then anything.

This isn't a sports injury, but I was just skating around on a local rink some years back and I ended up falling and some guy wasn't paying attention and stepped on my fingers with his ice skate. Rub the top of your fingers and imagine a skate blade coming down on them. Not a good feeling....

First sports injury I ever remember getting was playing soccer-baseball with some neighbourhood kids when I was about 8. I was the pitcher and there was a hard comebacker to the mound that got me square in the face and knocked me on my ass. At first I just got up and laughed like everyone else but I eventually noticed that caused an injury my tailbone.

My tailbone injury seemed to come back playing hockey a few years later. I had a cheap pair of second hand hockey pants and didn't realize it was missing some padding in the back until I fell on my ass again. Could barely walk for like 2 weeks and certainly couldn't run or skate with any speed.

Then one time playing hockey I blocked a slapshot with the side of my foot and cracked a bone. Then soon after that injury seemed to be getting better I was on my neighbours trampoline. I was about 14 and the guy whose family owned the trampoline was about 19 or 20 and much larger than me. He was drunk and bouncing on it with me and accidentally knocked me off and I landed with all my weight on that same foot on a flat stone that was next to the trampoline. So I became a gimp again for a few weeks.

The worst was probably when I went skiing with my cousin around that same time. It was only my 3rd time in my life going skiing. My cousin had been skiing regularly his whole life. He agreed to stick with me on the easier hills for most of the day but eventually wanted to go down an expert hill. As good of a skier as he was, he lacked common sense as did I apparently. We both agreed that I was doing well enough that I could probably try out the expert hill. Well of course I ended up wiping out and spraining my ankle.

Torn rotator cuff playing rugby.

Had the two top joints of my pinky finger ripped off by getting them caught in a football helmet during a tackle; they were re-attached within an hour and are fully functional. It was surprisingly a, relatively, painless injury.

Ripped my upper ankle tendon off of my shin bone by getting it caught on the post as I slid by (old-school, pegged in posts). Hurt like hell and just WOULDN'T heal; turns out the tendon had ripped of a flake of bone that while healing caused a lot of pain.

Broken wrist crashing into the boards while (ashamed about this) trying to run an opposing defenseman.
