Scoreless at halftime between Nigeria and Iran - I'm disappointed, here I thought Iran would be flying like a flock of seagulls :noidea:

It's taken awhile, but the rolling 10 yards down the field after both real and imagined injuries is starting to piss me off.

If one is seriously hurt, it's not possible to stop drop and roll that far downfield. :L

Oh my head. :L

There are legit reasons why Americans just aren't into soccer. When you have a whole article devoted to "Flopping is a key strategy that Team USA needs to incorporate into their play," most Americans are going to think, "What kind of sport is this?!"

:sigh:

Basketball :noidea:

I'd gladly continue to suck at soccer as a nation if it meant no flopping.

I think its really foolish to perpetuate the idea that only saccer has cheats ... and that this is whats holding its popularity back ... whether its diving or roids ... "gamesmanship" is everywhere

Every sport seems to have embellishment, even in North America. I think what most of us really dislike about soccer embellishment is the way they react to the supposed pain. FFS, show a little toughness. Even the hardest fouls don't hurt that much.

I thought it was funny today when Muller's anger at getting head-butted overruled his gamesmanship. For a moment it looked like he would roll around on the ground in agony but instead he jumped up and got in Pepe's face. Maybe that's a better indication to the ref that something actually happened.

And soccer players openly talking about embellishing as part of the game? I don't see hockey players dare admitting to such a thing, even if they do dive.
