I was so hyped for it when they first announced and now here we are... it better be the best
I have doubts but obviously hope it’s awesome.

With the success of the Fallout show, I fear they might develop a new Fallout first and push back ES even longer, but I have no evidence of this, just thinking out loud.

With all the blowback they got from Starfield, (some deserved but I still liked the game) I’m hoping future projects are more meticulously tested and not released before everything has been ironed out.

Sadly with the gaming industry how it is now, developers are given unrealistic amounts of time to produce these massive games and release buggy messes a lot of the time. Cyberpunk comes to mind but CDPR did a great job fixing it over time.

That’s one thing I always liked about Rockstar, they may delay their games for a year or longer but what gets released is often outstanding with little extra work to be done.

We will have to wait and see but I hope any of Bethesda’s future projects are better than their predecessors.

I think that Star Wars Outlaws also did some fear control on these types of open world games. i am still playing Skyrim.. been through 2 Discs and now on a downloaded copy (thankfully I didnt have to pay for it since it recognized that I already registered the game I bought on the Xbox One (or maybe it was from the 360 but its been so long now lol)

10+ years and countless hours.

Oh yeah, same man. I do a yearly playthrough of Skyrim at minimum.

Ill play it on a regular basis during the year but its perfect for when Im downloading a game update on the xbox one that usually takes a couple hours (seriously I have FAST internet and it takes that long) so I play skyrim while Im waiting.

Yeah, I mean you like what you like. The game does expand significantly after the first few hours and there’s quite a few different types of builds to experiment with but sometimes you just don’t feel a game.

I’ve been like that with some games that people absolutely rave about.

It seems like there is a lot of game there but I never really bought into the gameplay or story. Looking back at the acclaimed games of that year and I've played all of Souls games, Portal 2 slaps, Batman Arkham City Ive played through twice. Skyrim I think demands a bit more than the other games and Im not really sure I 'see' what others are seeing.

I grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons and start with some VERY basic DnD style games on the computer. I love immersing myself in that world and taking it as far as it can go. Skyrim I have played for 10+ years and STILL I find new things about it.

One of the best games I ever played in the past was Icewind Dale.

but it was a start to finish game that you couldn't really explore outside the mission. still a great game.

Skyrim just doesnt end. the main mission does but the game just can go forever and I love that.

Arkham City and the Portal games are awesome for sure. Souls games are one of the game sets that I couldn’t really get into.

For me it wasn’t even about the difficulty, they just never drew me in.

I even bought Elden Ring attempting to reintroduce myself to that type of game but same thing for me as you with Skyrim, probably had 3 characters with about 5 hours of gameplay and never went beyond that.

I can see why people like Elden Ring though.

I didn't either. Like you I started a few times then just kind of stopped. I'm sure its great, not saying anything bad about it, just not for me. After reading these, if I still had a copy I might give it another shot.

yeah that kind of game is not for everyone. I am kinda the same with GTA games. I played one beat up a hooker for cash and drove around in my 70s convertible for a while but got bored of the world. I think if I revisited it now I would enjoy it a lot more.

Yeah, I played some pen and paper RPGs for 3-4 years back when I had tons of time. The game that most resembled that for me was Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. I haven't played Icewind Dale but I did like the combat to Divinity Original Sin 2 and the story to Disco Elysium.

Oh yeah, I really liked the GOTG game. Fun to play and a better story than the second movie. Lots of funny dialogue. I liked The Avengers campaign OK. Was not worth playing anything else.

I thought Marvel Suns was fun too, but that is turn based fighting which some people dont like.

Its not really anything like the Avengers game imo. Its more like a walk-and-talk Naughty Dog style game. Honestly, I enjoyed the game so much it made me disappointed with the third GotG movie.
After 3 or so years I am 3/4ths of the way through another GOTG play through. It's a fantastic game, playing through again made me notice a few things and appreciate it more. Surprisingly sad at times, really funny at times, and very very dark humor at times.

I really like GTA games. Both the stories and just moving around in the world. Its fun after a few drinks to get on a motorcycle, pick a good station, and drive around seeing how fast I go before I hit something and fly through the air to my death in slow motion.

GTAIV was my favorite. I dont do the online stuff though, when I am done the story I am usually done
