OT: Video Game Geek Out

It is here. I finally got a PS5. Gamestop had some for sale about 10:30 the other night and I beat the bots and got one.
Nice thing is it was supposed to be here Friday or later. FedEx called yesterday and said I was getting a delivery that needed a signature today. I was hopeful this was it, I couldn't think of anything else I ordered but the PS5 order still lists as not being shipped yet.

And the even better news is I am off this week so I will have time to goof off.

Whats wrong with Borderlands 3? I am asking because I do not know. It seems very similar to the first two but this one seems like a chore to me.

-Writing is bad. I realize that BL2 wont win awards for its butt stallion but there was a better job of keeping you invested in the universe
-No slag, no stomps. So while the gunplay is better in BL3 it isnt as mechanically deep as BL2 or the Pre-Sequel.
-Borderlands in general is a fairly formulaic game. Lots of co-op games in general lose their luster have a sequel or two imo.

B3 was just flat out boring and I couldn't get into it at all. I replayed B1 and B2 countless times. I gave up on the pre-sequel as well and I liked that more than B3

I am doing a mission where I have to turn off a laser and when I got to the area and saw how big the map was I was disappointed. Too much. I will probably finish at this point but can really only bring myself to play it in small chunks at a time.

I am this way with Doom Eternal as well.

A lot of 'travel across the map to talk to someone to travel across another map to talk to someone to travel across the previous map is kill something'. And the Halloween expansion pack was garbage . Bl1 and bl2 had just terrific Halloween expansions

Finally finished. The last quarter was pretty solid. Overall it was not great. Far too long and far too big. When I finished I was at 46 hours. I would have cut 25 hours out of it.

My least favorite thing in video games- dream/sick/drugged levels. Overused and not fun.

One of my favorites- poison darts or arrows that make bad guys attack each other. Always make me laugh. 4 enemies chilling around a fire. I sneak up and dart on. He stands, screams, and starts swinging his sword at his buddies. Hilarious. In Ghost Of Tsushima if you dart a powerful he might wipe out half the camp

Guardians Of The Galaxy was a fantastic game. Looked great, fun to play, and had a really good story. And the dialog was awesome, everyone constantly taking shots at each other. Very funny and at times sad and touching.

I am pretty sure I was controlling the action. It's my favorite game since Succession which I could only play on Sunday nights for some reason.....
