OT: Video Game Geek Out

On BL2, I believe the rest of the world levels with you though. For example, if I'm at a point in the game where I should be around level 15 and I'm actually a 40, I think that all the baddies will be around 40 too, right?

this is correct. they are your levels... your weapons too

Xbox 720 will be announced officially in 21 days. Im not sure its being released just yet

also Dead Island Rip Tide starts off right where you left off in the helicopter so thats cool and you can continue on with your last level character if you kept your saved game but you lose your weapons which is ok as mine were fairly badass and I was pretty indestructible with them. now I get to recraft them again which is a big part of the games fun. Im only 1 hour in but so far there is some good changes (how to defend a camp is interesting) there is a new character added to the game an exmarine that is skilled in hand to hand (you get wicked handclaws in the game but Im more of a blunt expert and love using the sledge hammers)

wow. never realized how many hard core gamers there are on this board.

i've worked in and around the video game industry for a long time and i just don't get it. but then again, i don't play and don't want to get sucked into all of it because it's all just a time suck.

the only cool thing i will say is that i've gone to a couple of e3's and attended e3 parties, and that's pretty cool. but the games themselves and the consoles, etc. i could care less about.

i've heard alot of mixed reviews on the next Xbox One from developers and publishers in the industry. some love it and others hate it. will be interesting to see how well the system sells when released to the public.

Definitely not impressed with the new system. The always connected (yeah it's technically not always connected but it might as well be) and the downloading games and having them tied to an account is a deal breaker for me. I'm flat out not going to pay $60 for every game I play. That is not worth it. Apparently you will be able to buy used games, but of course Xbox is lacking details at this point. Big red flag there. Not liking the lack of backwards comparability or the kinect requirement either. Very disappointing product IMO and a huge step in the wrong direction by Microsoft.

Also I just downloaded a game called Bastion for 360 and I recommend it to anyone who likes action RPGs. Very enjoyable

I don't buy games very often (I think I have 6 after having a Playstation3 for several years), but I did purchase The Walking Dead game (Comeds commented on it earlier). Man, what a cool game. Very original, very different. Great stylistic graphics.

If you love 1st person shooters and lots of action (which I do as well), you may get bored. But if you're a big fan of The Walking Dead, you have to get this one (especially at only $20). It's like sitting back and watching a season of an alternate Walking Dead story line that you are a part of.

I give it 4 and a half out of 5 locomotives.
