I bought Last of Us like a month ago, but I'm worried ill get engrossed and will become a zombie for a week. Is it kind of an open world, or is there a definite storyline/path you follow?

Definite story path. You can choose different ways to get from point A to B but you still have to get there.

It took me about 18 hours to play it. I look around though.

I look around a bit, too, so I wouldn't expect that to change more than an hour or 2. That does put it in $40 territory and not $60 territory unless the multiplayer is any good.

Haha. I figured it out this evening. I had bought "I Am Alive," not "The Last of Us." The latter is the one that I had heard was coming out and while ago and looked better than the former.

Oh well, I'll let y'all know if I Am Alive is any good.

I'll learn some things about survival... and a little about dinosaurs.

Let me know, I downloaded "I Am Alive" a long time ago and stopped playing it. Not entirely because I didnt like but I switched to something else. I may go back to it.

I'm only a few hours into The Last of Us. Just amazing.

My 18 year old finished it and said the ending is all-time great. (he's only 18 so may be overstating)

If I wasn't working like a dog this week I'd be further along. Freaking storms in Pittsburgh and I work for the electric utility. 30 hours combined Tuesday/Wednesday and not looking to improve for the end of the week.

I think I'm going to need to beat The Last of Us before the ending gets spoiled to me. People keep talking about it as the best/worst thing ever.

Let me know, I downloaded "I Am Alive" a long time ago and stopped playing it. Not entirely because I didnt like but I switched to something else. I may go back to it.

Well, I haven't played I Am Alive any further, but I finally got around to playing some of The Last of Us. Man, what a spectacular game.

It's honestly a little boring at times. The one criticism I have is I hate games where I have to explore every part of the map to find stuff.

That aside, there is a lot of strategy you have to put into the conflicts and the fights are pretty challenging. The movement of the enemies and the AI they have is really good. It's great they kinda get you from all sides in certain conflicts. And I definitely get a rush of adrenaline/fear/etc. while playing the game sometimes. It does a great job of making you feel like you're in that situation. If you like zombie/survival type games - it's a must buy.

Oh, and the title sequence in the game makes it feel like a movie. Best one I've ever seen.
