My friend's dads got hundreds of texts this week as he unfortunately had a phone number that was one digit off the number you were supposed to text to get a free burrito from Chipotle. Pretty funny...

This lawyer was bombarded with texts from people trying to claim their free Chipotle burrito

Reminds me of the fact that my older sister's first place had a phone # that was one digit off of the local Pizza Hut. She used to get calls most weekends from people trying to order a pizza for delivery. - She told me that sometimes (if she could tell that they were drunk or stoned) she would play along and act like she was taking down their order.

Virtually no one knows who Emmy Noether is, but she is without question among the most important mathematicians of the 20th century (at least), and it was her work (four theorems which fall collectively under the name Noether's Theorem) which provided the mathematical foundation for all conservation laws in physics, and which explained the most troubling element of Einstein's theory of General Relativity. She should be a household name, and yet only folks who take advanced physics and mathematics classes have any real chance of hearing of her, and that's a travesty.

In any case, I got the chance to explore the math of Noether's Theorem when I took an advanced quantum mechanics class, and while there's no way I can go into it here, suffice it to say it's really beautiful mathematics.
