Was that kid in the Walmart commercial trying to send his infant sister into outer space?

Did he hope that aliens would abduct her?

I heard on the radio that there's supposed to be duplicate copies of the winners in the envelope for each award.

(Maybe so that if there's two presenters, they can open/read it at the same time?)

Only this time, one of the duplicates was accidentally for Best Actress, in the Best Picture envelope.

That kind of explains how they found the corrected one, even though the erroneous one was still open from when Fay read it.

She didn't realize it was the wrong envelope, she just quickly read it.

This picture makes it seem obvious from the front (first Twitter pic).

And this picture makes it seem obvious from the back.

Have you read any of the "My Teacher is an Alien" series? How about "Me and the Weirdos" or "My Fat Summer"?

Yes.

* My Teacher Is An Alien
* My Teacher Fried My Brains
* My Teacher Glows In The Dark
* My Teacher Flunked The Planet.

I think I read the 3rd one first, then bought the 4th, then checked out the first two from the library. I liked them all, probably the 2nd one the most.

I don't know if I read "One Fat Summer" or not. It sounds like I might have, but could be a false memory.

Robert Lipsyte - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I loved that series. In that order. I tend to like the original/first in a series most, because it has most of the time most original stuff, most explanations, and most energy to discuss the story. Good authors can do well in all of them, it's just when comparing them. Plus, my teacher actually was an alien, so that made the story closer to me than say One Fat Summer, where I wasn't fat. I did like the daily improvements the character in that book made and the observations he made about girls.

I think since I owned the 4th, and probably the 3rd, I just remember them more. I read them a few times.

Since I checked the first two out from the library, I only read them once each. So I don't remember as much.

We haven't talked about books in a long time. Should I read any book from "My Fat Summer" or "Me and the Weirdos"?

One Fat Summer is more grownup, less formulaic/predictable. I loved both. My kid read Me and the Weirdos to me.

Also, why does the title "flunked the planet" make sense? I don't know if I understood that. Or maybe if I did, I forgot now.

Is it because Hoo-Lan couldn't find any redeeming qualities about humans on earth?

Therefore he gave the human race a F grade?

Something about the wording of the title has always bothered me.

Also, I don't like how they change book covers.

This is the one I had:

I like it. It looks "realistic".

This next one is one that I see right now. I don't like it, it looks too cartoony.

Here's another one I see right now. Pretty cool, again, I like how the boy looks like a real person.

Here's another one. I don't like the cartoonish look again:

Here's another one. The colors are a little similar to the first one, so it is ok. But the first one is still better.
