Where else have you seen that tactic?

I might be talking about the same one, but I don't have your memory. I wouldn't remember what it was about or if it were on page 92 (even if you made that number up). There's a chance that we did the same thing, cause I did tell you how I cheated through those.

Have you read any of the "My Teacher is an Alien" series?

Yes.

* My Teacher Is An Alien
* My Teacher Fried My Brains
* My Teacher Glows In The Dark
* My Teacher Flunked The Planet.

I think I read the 3rd one first, then bought the 4th, then checked out the first two from the library. I liked them all, probably the 2nd one the most.

Don't leave me hanging. What are your thoughts on the series?

It was probably page 96, 97, or 98 in actuality, but it was in the 90s for sure. Ok, somewhere between 90 - 102. :)

Interesting that they might have repeated the same trick in another book.

I loved that series. In that order. I tend to like the original/first in a series most, because it has most of the time most original stuff, most explanations, and most energy to discuss the story. Good authors can do well in all of them, it's just when comparing them. Plus, my teacher actually was an alien, so that made the story closer to me than say One Fat Summer, where I wasn't fat. I did like the daily improvements the character in that book made and the observations he made about girls.

I thought it was more interesting that we could have made the same obscure observation about a longer series of books in the same book but not know it. The only way for us to get to that page 92 or whatever was to have similar thinking to go and find it.

I think since I owned the 4th, and probably the 3rd, I just remember them more. I read them a few times.

Since I checked the first two out from the library, I only read them once each. So I don't remember as much.

Well, if we ever meet and become gift exchanging friends, guess what I am getting for you and your future Nura-little man?

Answer 1) I don't have any of them anymore, my mom probably gave them away at some point (without consulting me, as usual).

Answer 2) A PC with pre-loaded p***?

Stop being lazy. Get your own damn plow. I don't know how you pre-load a plow on a paper clip, but do it yourself. Just kidding, I know PC means power chord, I mean, postcard. Unless you're being tricky and really mean purple car? Not sure why you needed the asterisks.

We already are gift-exchanging friends. We exchange gifts all the time: The gift of laughter.

Starting "Pet Sematary".

I liked the directing style.

Good plot too.

I liked how it spent much of the movie setting up the plot, unlike other horror movies which spend most of the movie with the villain chasing others, with the innocents, with the innocents having some close escapes earlier in the movie.

Also, the title was a bit misleading. I thought a pet would be the villain, but it wasn't.

Other movies have a lot of chase-and-close-escapes, only to stall and have a final showdown at the end.

They get predictable to me, because I know there's not going to be a great scene until the end. (Sometimes there still are, but usually they try to save the best for last).

This wasn't structured like that, the plot was structured a little differently.

Only cats could be a villain. Dogs are innocent and if portrayed in a movie, would be portrayed as too dumb to be evil - though criminals are dumb - most, if they could get the same thing with their brain, would, but resort to crime because of laziness or inability to do so. Some, of course, are just desperate, some for good reasons.

Yeah, some movies, I'm just waiting for the end because that's when things will happen and even then, I know what will happen. I knew that Harry Potter couldn't die in books 1-6. And even then, well, I don't want to spoil it. I read the first 2 and will read the rest one day, maybe. I thought maybe JK Rawlings should not have told anyone how many there were going to be (though the years at school sort of reveal that). She'd have to tell publishers or the movie producers an idea either way so they could commit to the whole series. If she didn't reveal, she might need to get a renewal for every book and what if the 4th bombed? At least by releasing the total number of books, she could get some assurances. She'd still need to put in the work if the series failed after 4, though.

I can't watch Bond movies with suspense. I know he'll live, it's just for entertainment/humor/cleverness in how it turns out.

Agree.

I like the Bourne Identity movies better overall. The action isn't so over the top, and they just have a different vibe than the Bond movies I've seen.

I just looked at the credits for both Cujo, and Pet Sematary, and they don't list the dog and cat actor, respecitvely, who plays them. I wanted to see the real name of the pet.

For example, the dog on Frasier was played by a dog named Moose, until later in the series, when Moose's son Enzo would sometimes play the dog Eddie.

I also read the book about Moose.

It was a little weird, but oh well.
