I liked it, unique setting and story.
Twisters:
Saw it twice. First time in 4DX.
2nd time, a month later, with both Twister and Twisters in 4DX, back to back.
Good movie. I think the character development was just a little bit less than the first movie.
The first movie ended up being great in 4DX. They should bring back more older movies like this, and show them right before sequels are released. Just like they did with this.
Alien: Romulus
I hadn't seen a movie in the Alien franchise, other than Covenant, in more than a decade. I had forgotten some of the plot details of the first few movies.
This movie helped remind some of those things.
However, wish they had gotten a more in depth, within the movie, about the tie in to the Roman mythology of Romulus.
Some of the call backs to the early movies were good. Just something overall about this movie felt lacking.
The 4DX effects during the gun burst scene was great.
I did like the android character.
Maybe I need to rewatch Alien, then watch Romulus again, to get the chronology flow.
Coraline:
Saw it in 3D. What a weird movie, that became better after it was over and I thought about all of it. The 3D was great.
The Substance:
Very good sci fi horror movie.
One of the changes at the end was unexpected by me. I did not expect the character to look like that.
Joker: Folie a Deux
This movie feels like it might make more sense, if there's a sequel. For example, did we just get an origin for Two Face, at the end?
Is the young inmate supposed to be the next Joker, or the real Joker? I also don't like movies very much where a character we barely know, suddenly has a big role at the end.
It's an ok movie, but also feels like there's some unanswered questions.
Didi:
Great movie. They really got the vernacular of what it was like to be a pre teen.
Reminded me of those times.
Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story
Since I don't like reading plots ahead of time, or watching trailers, I spent most of the movie wondering if Reeve was still alive, or if his wife was.
Good documentary which gave a lot of different perspectives on Reeve's life.
I didn't know he was a director. I want to watch some of his other movies.
The Batman:
Right when I popped in the Blu Ray, I realized I had seen this movie before, 2 years prior. I then realized that for whatever reason, the transaction didn't show up in my "Borrowing History" from the library 2 years ago. But I was able to find an email receipt of the transaction, proving that I did watch the movie.
I did rewatch it again anyways. I liked the style and music of the movie.
Here:
Don't think I had ever seen a Tom Hanks movie in a theater, since Apollo 13. So I wanted to finally watch one.
Good movie, from the same director as Forest Gump.
Red One:
I'd never seen a Dwayne Johnson movie before.
This was a solid Christmas movie, with a unique plot.
I do think they could have done a better job with the father and son character development, and tying in the end of the movie, back to an earlier incident.
Sonic The Hedgehog:
James Mardsen's acting and Jim Carrey's acting seemed too similar. I had actually thought Carrey played both roles, until the end credits rolled.
And I thought it was intentionally done in a similar way.
I did like the setup of the movie, and the use of the baseball field scene to springboard the rest of the plot.
But overall, the plot just didn't seem that special or unique.
Solid movie, but didn't exceed expectations.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2:
I thought they did a great job of advancing the plot a lot. Introduced a lot more stuff from the Sonic universe. And I really like Agent Stone. He was a character created for the movie, but they gave him a lot of depth.
The Polar Express:
First time watching it. Saw it in 3D 4DX.
Another great movie with a unique plot. This movie had good "snow" effects from the ceiling.
Wicked:
The characters were one dimensional and easily telegraphed. The songs, for a musical, were not that good.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3:
Saw it in 4DX. Another solid movie.
The motorcycle scene in 4DX was great, especially just the effect of the motorcycle starting up.
Gladiator:
I had avoided this movie all of these years, because I generally don't like movies set in ancient times.
Didn't think I would like it.
The plot for this movie was good. I liked Joakim Phoenix's acting. Great movie.
Mufasa: The Lion King.
Saw it in 3D 4DX.
Solid musical, good origin story plot.
A lot of "rain" effects due to the many scenes in water.
Gladiator II:
This movie had the right style, in terms of being a sequel. They set up the movie with a solid premise.
However, after a while, the movie just felt like one escalating battle after another. It felt like that's all the movie was going to be.
The characters, and plot dynamics, of the first movie, weren't as good.
And the naval battle scene inside the Colosseum seemed outrageous. However, it turns out, stuff like that did happen, to a degree.
However the movie took it too far, because they also had sharks. And in actual ancient times, they used props to simulate parts of battles. They didn't have outright naval battles in the Colosseum like the movie depicted.
I also didn't quite understand Macrinus' character. Felt like they had him do a turn at the end, just because they wanted a turn. Didn't feel like they did enough to properly build up his turn, and the final battle.
This movie could have been better with different plot choices and character interactions.
Babygirl:
Don't think I'd seen a Nicole Kidman movie since Birth, and Eyes Wide Shut.
It was ok. Felt that the tying in to the dog analogy could have been throughout the movie, and not just the end.
The Room Next Door:
Great movie.
Unique plot about death.
