As an alternative, maybe cap the nights during the week if the weekend is not really an issue. You could say any weekend is fine and only 2 nights during the week. They can go over to his place more if they have to see each other every night, which I'm sure that daddy-never-loved-me whore Kaylee probably will need until she suffocates him and then cheats on HIM ANYWAY!!!!

Just... hypothetically....

Yeah that's not a bad idea. The reason I was hesitant to even bring anything up is because I didn't want this to denegrate into, "Yeah, well your dad comes over for Scrabble like twice a month, and your little sister spent the night last weekend!!!!"

Edit: Thankfully, since the writing is on the wall for her to move in with him when the lease runs out next year, we already have a new roommate lined up (the kid I lived with previously). Counting down the days.

Not until May though.

she doesnt have an argument if she turns to 'your dad' and 'your sister'.. first off she lives with siblings, your family is going to vist.. and 2ndly family members are way different than guys mooching off your apartment

my roommate in college had his girl over every night too, but it was basically only between 11pm - 8am.. which i didnt mind at all.. i would definitely have to say something if when i got home my roommates girlfriend was always there.. i recruited 1 roommate, not 2.. especially when i had no say in the 2nd one

I always wonder about the significant others that are comfortable doing this. Don't they feel like assholes? I feel like if I was in a similar situation, the least I would is try and do something nice for the roommates to show my appreciation.

Yeah, but again, if you stick to rules everyone has to follow, then it's not a problem. Hell, maybe you just make it about the overnight part which may lead to them going to his place more without you having to make a "rule" about it.

That said, Scrabble can get extremely rowdy. Like when you're playing with your guy friends and Kaylee and Kaylee is all, "let's play strip Scrabble." And then she starts playing words like "blow" and "john" across each other and next thing you know she is CHEATING ON YOU WITH YOUR FRIEND JOHN!!!!!!

Just... hypothetically...

Some people are oblivious, some people are selfish, and some people are both.

LMAO.

I think I am going to make it just the overnight part (they drink a lot, so I think you're right that would make them stay over there more). Three nights a week. Factor in all the time I'm not there and I'm sure he'll still be staying over 12-16 nights a month. PLENTY.

If all those other suggestions fail, I'd suggest releasing a hoard of large angry bees into Kaylee's room while they're sleeping.

Or better yet, into the bathroom while he's showering.

Imagine a bee sting...down there. :faint2:

Yes, the bees...or the dogs...or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark, they shoot bees at you.

Bargaining tip - start at 2, let her feel like she has won when you concede to 3. ;)

I'm out all. Good luck, Loki. Roommate battles are never fun.

I agree with what most people have said so far. They've clearly crossed a line, and you should NEVER feel uncomfortable in your own home. That's just wrong. Obviously with roommates things come and concessions need to be made, but they need to respect your opinion on the matter.

Loki you got some great responses here. From personal experience text (e-mails) are not a good idea to communicate these type's of situations. Like others have said sit down and lay down the ground rules that this will be discussed as adults.

You're a smart young lady and that's the way to go IMO. Voice your grievances in a non attacking way (along with your sister) and ask her and him "how would you feel if....." throw the ball in their court. Make sure your friend knows with out a doubt the situation is problematic.

Life is never easy eh? If an honest effort and diplomacy doesn't work then obviously you will need to look at other options.

It's your place and you shouldn't feel the need to defend your space and your "friend" should be more understanding. Make sure you emphasis that you do NOT have a problem with him just the current situation.

BTW It's good to see you around again and I hope things work out but don't let it cause you grief and anxieties. Nip it in the bud, the sooner the better.

Just my two cents.

I was the Chuck, but I was only over a couple nights a week because I hated my girlfriend's house. I made sure, though, to find out everyone else's schedules and work around them when I was there. I woke up a half hour earlier than I normally would to not interfere with showering things, and to thank them for letting me stay, I would clean up one of the rooms or do the dishes every now and then. And I never took a shower that lasted more than 5 minutes when I was there. I wasn't paying for water, so it would have been wrong of me.

Just tell Chuck that if the coolest, smartest, most awesome person on SportsHoopla can make such concessions that he should too, and all will work out fine.

:)

Woah, woah, woah... I think we need to first verify if Boss made those kinds of concessions. He might not even remember the late 1800s.
