I think I would go that route when I get my own place and can store a decent one.

.....and also get better

Why don't you ask Guitar center if they can order you a Yamaha DGX-530? Like I said, it has a full 88 keys (which really is a big deal), and the sounds are fantastic. Depending on how much more it'll cost it will be well worth the extra dough.

Here's mine: Yamaha P-120S.

This was my big 21st birthday present. I have no idea how expensive it is, but I imagine it's quite pricey. Great weighted keys, and decent sound (although usually I just rewire it through Reason on my computer).

We're moving in a few weeks, out of place that had a real piano, so I'll have ot start playing this again. As much as I like it, nothing beats the real thing....

I actually went there today and they had a used 530 there. It seemed like a good deal but even the guy there said (and it was obvious) that the store for some reason did not keep good care of it. It was dusty and had some blemishes and such that probably could have been maintained.

Those kind of things just scare me and even the sales guy agreed he what front that kind of money for it.

A guy I played in a jazz duo with owned a Roland A-90. Now that was a sweet board. It easily had the best sampled piano sound I'd heard; at least for the late 90's. Problem was, that pig weighed about 70 fucking lbs with the case and was a bitch to lug to any gig.

I believe they were around 1500 hun in Canada when they first came out, but, I think the price on similar models have dropped somewhat and I'm sure they're less in the USA so that price is probably pretty close.

Ok so I officially ordered the 230. Amazon (no tax which seems weird for me).

I even signed up for the free trial of amazon prime so I was able to get next day shipping for just $3.99 so it should be here by Thursday.

Thanks everyone for all your help and I will definitely update as to how it is!!

I think I have the worlds greatest ol' lady. She just gave me 1200 bucks so that I could buy a Yamaha moX6 (Pretty much the same thing as the legendary Yamaha Motif ES). Granted, I have to pay her back -- and of course I will; but still I could almost cry, being that this is my DREAM board!!!

Should arrive next week, hopefully!!
