welcome to Canada Danny Koevermans

Never one to mince words, the candid Dutchman had a few choice words for Jamaican referee Courtney Campbell, who awarded Kovermans a yellow card in the 58th minute for starting a scuffle with Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders at the edge of the Galaxy's box. The play seemed innocent enough initially as the Galaxy goalkeeper ran to the edge of the box towards Koevermans, but after Saunders scooped up the ball, Kovermans was left incensed.

"[Saunders] put his cleats on our upper leg, so when I bumped into him straight away, I can understand. I was on the side of him. He just put his cleats on my upper leg, and so I was mad at that," said Koevermans, who charged Saunders after the play. "But this referee, these CONCACAF referees are such a joke, so then he gave me a yellow card for my reaction. That's okay, but then he should give him a yellow card too but he didnt do that. Stupid."

Jason deVos ‏ @jasondevos
In Canada, the little kid on the (second from) right in this photo would be cut because he was too small to help the team "win".

those were fun times ... i remember re-enacting that moment on commercial drive in front of some france fans ... they just watched and kept puffing on their cancer sticks ... no reaction ... not even a surrender ... oh well :)

Man City has looked terrible of late. They looked untouchable for most of the season but have played sloppy and look very beatable right now. They have no excuses either considering they are out of every tournament.

they have allowed Man U back in it. they had several chances to take a 7 even 10 point lead at times but just fell. it will go down to the final days I think.

Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is to have a liver transplant, the Spanish and European champions said on Thursday.

The France international, a cult figure among fans of the Catalan club, had surgery to remove a tumour from the organ last March before making a triumphant return to lift the Champions League trophy at Wembley just two months later.

"Over the coming weeks, the player [Abidal] will undergo a liver transplant," Barca said in a statement on their website.

"The transplant was an option already mentioned since the start of his treatment a year ago," the statement added.

The club did not say how long the 32-year-old would be out of action but his chances of returning before the end of the season and representing France at Euro 2012 starting in June must be in serious doubt.

Im no Dr Recchi ... [sarcasm]but I would possibly think the underlined statement is correct ... maybe? huh?[/sarcasm]

I dont think i recall seeing an injury report in any sport that read ... "liver transplant (out 10 to 12 weeks)"
