Yeah, I was flipping between the two games. Fans of these teams went through the wringer six or seven times in a span of 20 minutes.

As it stands, Birmingham will play in Europe next year from their League Cup win, Spurs will from their place in the table, Stoke will from being runners up in the FA Cup, and the FIFA fair play place could go to either Fullham or even Blackpool. Fullham took a red card today, so who knows...

It could come down to two Championship teams playing in Europe next year.

OK, this kind of sucks.....

Vancouver Whitecaps were leading 1-0 over Toronto FC in the back half of the home&home for the Canadian Championship (Nutralite Challenge or whatever it is).
30 minutes left, and it gets rained out..... so they replay the game in its entirety tomorrow, starting a 0-0

goals are tough enough to score, don't let mother nature take any away!!

That's ridiculous. I think it was last year in which the Australian Rules Football league final finished in a tie. According to their rules they don't play overtime. So they played the final all over again the following week.

posted in the soccer forum (which no one looks at - lol)

you missed the part about the caps only having 18 players to choose from since its an away game and the turnaround time is just nuts

game time = 8am pacific time ... only 7 year olds play soccer at this time of day

hopefully for the caps, the field is deemed unplayable this morning

Canadian soccer association and TFC ... geniuses all around ... taking out the fieldturf and replacing it with real grass ... in Toronto ??? great idea!!!

woohoo ... no screwjob for the caps ... although only 8 and 9 year olds play soccer at 9:30 am ;)

No @WhitecapsFC game today against #TFC as bad weather keeps BMO field unplayable. Replay of #NCC final to be played July 2 @ 9:30am PT

the first tie-breaker it away goals, right?

that's what I was so worried about.
that's a big goal to have cancelled back (first leg was 1-1)

I need to go to a Revs game... Havent been yet. I really want to go to a Liverpool game. EPL looks real exciting to be at live. Probably the only sport I think that has more passionate fans than hockey.

can't speak for the Red Bulls - maybe they are playing hopped up on caffeine?
It's Vancouver's first year in the league... so they are having some growing pains.

i like their coach Teitur Thordarson but i dont think he's using the personnel very well ... theres been some butting of heads between he and Chiumiento ... this guy could be an MLS star and the coaching staff insists on him tracking back all the time to help out defensively

Only in the EPL can you lose a game 3-2 and have your fans invade the pitch afterwards - they are celebrating at Molineux like they won the title.

The final day of the league is always great for high drama - every goal means something to three or four different teams

Champions league final saturday

but Im more interested in the drama involved in the "pray off" game for promotion from Championship league to epl that will happen this monday between Swansea and Reading

1 game

winner gets promoted ... and will see an estimated increase in franchise/team revenue of $100 million pounds over the next couple of years due to sharing of tv revenues ... even if they end up getting relegated after next season

loser gets sweet fuck all and will keep playing championship next season

think theres any pressure there????

When both guys who are up for election as the head of Fifa are under investigation for bribery what do you think that says about Soccer in general?

there is corruption no doubt ... this is no surprise ... FIFA, all the continental associations ... but then if you look at ALL international sporting association bodies the same things are happening IOC, FINA ... Id even throw IIHF in the pot

read my post #216 for example

there is a game monday where the winner gets $100 million pounds revenue guaranteed ... the loser gets nothing

you dont think that has the potential for certain "irregular" things to occur

No wonder they were making a big deal about the bottom 3 who were being relagated. There were people actually crying in the stands like somebody was dead. One teams joy was another teams misery. UNREAL!
