Vancouver Whitecaps knock out Montreal Pink-pact in the Nutralite Cup (errr Canada's soccer trophy).
will now face Toronto, who took out Edmonton.

Mtl got a bit of a gift penalty kick in the final minute to tie it up, but Van closed it out in OT.
(same Mtl dude who scored the penalty had a chance to tie in the last minute of extra time, with an open shot from about 8 yards out... hit the post)

Go Caps Go.

my thoughts:

the pink is a total u.s.c. palermo team ripoff ... wonder if the Impact will go (or will be allowed to go) with pink when they move to mls next year

i was at the game and people around me were commenting that it was like a canucks playoff game ... making things so hard for themselves against a team that might be less talented ... bad call by a ref ... ended up lucky not to lose

if Ali Gerba was professional enough to step away from the buffet table he'd be playing EPL

who wins between Van / Tor? I don't watch enough to get a feel for it.

Similar records, Van's offense has been a bit better.

Vancouver has injuries to the back end and Toronto is playing better after trading DeRo ... different personnel than the caps MLS franchise opener and more guys buying in to total football ... they are also going to wanna bring some payback after the caps made them look like amateurs

it really could go either way ... caps push the offense more but they have so many d breakdowns

FC Bayern Munchen are the shit. When I make it Germany (hopefully withing the next 2 years), I am definitely going to take in a game.

FC Bayern München AG

An 8:1 win is pretty fucking epic.

if you want to win your domestic league ... signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a smart move

AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic clinches an eighth successive league title
The Swedish striker has continued an incredible run, spanning five clubs and dating back to the 2003-04 season when he was playing for Ajax in the Eredivisie

Jeff

Bayern Munchen has been a dominant team in the Bundesleague for years. Beckenbauer played for them & coached them. They're always at or near the top of the league.

2nd highest transfer fee was paid by Barca for him a couple years back

He was actually loaned to Milan from Barcelona this year and milan wasnt the favorite to win the italian league scudetto ... 5 teams in 3 different countries and he wins 8 league championships ... in a row ... just nutso

you might not be familiar with the name but you gotta be familiar with the goals

Only in the EPL can you lose a game 3-2 and have your fans invade the pitch afterwards - they are celebrating at Molineux like they won the title.

The final day of the league is always great for high drama - every goal means something to three or four different teams

what a roller coaster

I chose to watch Birmingham tottenham ... talk about gutted fans

how many times did the table positioning change during the final 20 mins ... one minute theyre in the next theyre out ... the next theyre in again ... then out again

great stuff
