From jstew's massage story:

Their “stable” of expensive vehicles includes an Audi R8, a Porsche Panamera and a Maserati GT

Two out of three ain't bad (don't really care for the Panamera)

I had one as a courtesy car for a few weeks recently.
they look great from certain angles, but yeeesh from others.
too many blind spots when driving, but it goes like stink.
really fun to drive.

Sometimes I see one and think "wow"

Other times I see one and think "bleh".

Such a strange car. Reminds me of the time they tried to make a 4 door 928. And I consider the 928 one of the most beautiful cars ever. But adding the doors just... blew it.

My wife's van was broken into last night, and the fucking punks took the GPS and DVD players for the kids.

What's worse is that the vehicle was parked all the way up the driveway, and it most likely happened while I was watching TV in the living room. I never heard a fucking thing.

Cops said that a few streets around us were also hit last night, and they have been busy this morning. We at least had the serial #'s for the items stolen, so i hope they get busted when they try to pawn them.

This really pisses me off. :mad2:

What also drives me nuts is the fact that you spend all that money every year for car insurance, and they don't cover stolen items from your car.

They said if the car was damaged during the theft, or if items such as the steering wheel or mirror were stolen, then they would reimburse.

Guess I'm going to have to try homeowner's insurance.

Since you have and reported the serial numbers on the items, you'll most likely get them back. In my state, pawn shops are required to hold items for 30 days before selling them just for stolen item checks. I got my ipod back, but it did take almost a month from when it was stolen (and pawned the next day) for me to get word that my property was recovered.

If you have comprehensive coverage, then it should be covered unless you left the van doors unlocked.

Unless they decide to keep them, sell them to someone else personally, or on Craigslist.

I would think if they were going to pawn them, they would have also grabbed the case and charger as well? I mean, they were right there to take, but they threw them on the ground?

Has to be some punk kids.

Neighbor 2 houses down said the dog barked at 2:15 am, when they were breaking into her car, and they ran off.

So that means they were at my house minutes before that, which pisses me off considering I got home from work at 2:05 am.

:bullshit:

They said that comprehensive coverage doesn't cover items stolen from the vehicle that are not part of the vehicle, whether the doors are locked or not.

Must be one of those grey areas that says if you're stupid enough to leave valuables in your car, then expect bad things to happen?

I guess it depends on what insurance you have and which state you're in, but I'm shit out of luck.

Sorry to hear about that IPW, I think I forgot to lock the doors to my van last week and somebody (punk kids likely) made off with some change that I store in the ashtray. Nothing else was taken or damaged, so in a weird way I consider myself lucky.

I feel bad for my wife.

Her cell phone doesn't work, and they don't know how to fix it.

Her laptop's motherboard took a shit, so now she either gets a new one, or pays more money to fix it than what it cost in the first place.

And now her car is broken into, and items stolen.

Sheesh

Yeah, that drives me nuts too. I had a friend who had his Full Carbon road bike taken out of the back of his Cherokee by force. Paid to fix the 600 dollars damage to the car, but wouldn't do anything on the 8,000 dollar bike. Hello? there would be no damage to the car if the bike wasn't in there...

He had it on his homeowners policy and was fighting with them when it showed up on Craigslist.

Bad guys have given up on Pawn Shops because they know about the serial number trackers. It's Craigslist. I know the CPD has three detectives who do Craigslist recoveries almost exclusively.

If only the laptop and cell phone had been in the van. 2 birds, one stone.

Sucks man.

Smart bad guys, sure. Most of the bad guys I've had the displeasure of dealing with just weren't smart enough.
