That Kasich guy is truly off his rocker.Yeah...if something like that happens where I am, I'm gonna go nuts. Nothing like a (...okay many) psychopath running to get you motivated to do your civic duty.

Arizona did not have it together for this primary, and I'm not even talking about Trump winning the state.
Today--the day on which we were to vote--I received by mail my updated voter registration card, since, even though I didn't move or change my name or anything else, something about my voter registration changed. I assume my precinct was rezoned, because my polling location was different this year.
Fortunately, I vote by early ballot, so this didn't end up being a problem for me, but for someone else--someone perhaps who was counting on their now-invalid voter registration card to be part of their identification, or someone who was relying on the voter registration card to tell them their voter information so they could find their polling location (which, by the way, I only found out mine changed because I got a text form the campaign for whom I volunteered last week, and not because the city actually bothered to notify me)--not receiving their registration card until whenever the mail arrived on voting day could have prevented them from casting their ballot. That's ridiculous.
The whole primary was a mess. Five hour lines, folks being turned away for nonsense reasons. It's a mess. Voting should be simple and straightforward, what with it being a promised and allegedly defended Constitutional right, but it's a convoluted mess.
Also, they didn't send me my I Voted Early sticker. Jerks.
/I'm so upset I wrote a 115 word sentence. That's almost as absurd as trying to vote in Arizona.
That's my primary explanation philosophy.
In the general election, though, there's a decent chance there will be intentional voter suppression. They've been all but transparent about it in the past. I just don't see the edge in the primaries, so I'm more inclined to assume it's just stupidity here.

I will never understand why we "register" to vote. Simple, you are a citizen in good standing over 18, you can vote. Whatever you have that identifies you as a citizen is your "registration". Social security card, passport, whatever.
And none of this registering with a party crap either. In Ohio, when you show up to vote in a primary, they ask which ballot you want republican or democrat. And whatever you answer, that's what they give you. I bet a ton of people voted in the "other" ballot just so their hated person lost. Not choosing who they wanted.
If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.
You have no idea. Don't get me started. I live in his state. He is a fucktard of the highest order.
And he's quite possibly the most sensible choice on his side.
Kasich has a reputation as a cutthroat, ruthless campaigner and politician, and yet he's playing the nice guy in this race. Because of the three guys left, he actually is the nice guy and the sane one. And he knows that.
But a Kasich presidency would likely be harmful. A Trump or Cruz presidency would be an unmitigated disaster, so I would prefer Kasich over those two, but he's also not exactly a good choice.
I can get behind everything you said except this. Having countless voters, many of which were registered in the same party for years, suddenly show up in the "database" as independent, rings as deliberate tampering to me.The ... problems with registration sound to me like nothing more than terrible planning. Okay, maybe a little more than terrible planning in that terrible isn't a strong enough adjective, but that sort of stuff points more to inefficiencies in the system than anything else.

I've been driven nuts again this week. Though this one happens pretty frequently.
When I'm on my bike, waiting in a left turn lane for a chance to go, cars like to just pull up around me and turn into the intersection ahead of me. If they're pulling a U-turn, usually their chance to go comes after when mine would have, so now I'm stuck waiting for them to go before I can. But otherwise, if someone does that while I'm starting out into the intersection to make my turn, they're going to hit me. It's dangerous, it's illegal (I'm a vehicle, after all, and you don't get to jump line in left turn lanes around cars), and it's pretty disrespectful.
Root canals. Especially when you have to go more than once to finish the job. Nothing like an hour in the chair, and your jaw getting all kinds of screwed up. Get your wisdom teeth out early, kids!
I had a wisdom tooth extracted (two came in fine, and one was just missing - worst mutant ever) and it was much easier than when a childhood root canal went bad. Ended up getting it pulled, much worse than the surgical extraction of the wisdom tooth.
The time it takes is the worst part to me. Too long! You hear about these suckers all the time, often compared to something sucky, "rather have a root canal". After having one, there's really not much I'd not do to avoid getting one of these. Nothing like ripping out an angry and inflamed nerve! Two weeks and I get all four wisdom teeth out, then they finish the root canal. Issue was an impacted tooth hit my second molar creating a nasty cavity under the surface. When they took X-rays and put them up while I waited for the doc I knew I was in for some pain. Literally filing the inside of your tooth. Also took forever to just get half done.
The time it takes is the worst part to me. Too long!
Hope you get everything done as quick possible.
I saw that. It's a bit of a sensationalized take on what happened, but all five of those things are unacceptable, and not having polling locations in primarily Latino neighborhoods is probably intentional suppression of those voters, but that will matter a lot more in the general than it did in the primary, so I'm kind of glad it happened now so they [hopefully] can't get away with it again.
Calling states before all the votes are counted is pretty common, though, and it's unlikely to have an effect on the outcome. I do, however, think it's really terrible form to call it while people are in line. It discourages participation when participation is exactly what we should want. Not likely intentional voter suppression, but it's a gaffe which sends a terrible message.
The lines and problems with registration sound to me like nothing more than terrible planning. Okay, maybe a little more than terrible planning in that terrible isn't a strong enough adjective, but that sort of stuff points more to inefficiencies in the system than anything else. Consider the fact that this is the website the federal government spent $200 million to have built so that they could accept applications for bids on government projects (including future website designs), and you learn all you need to know about how effective information management is in the government.
