Well, hate is bred, not born. Which means we have to count on responsible, open minded parenting.

Any kind of a festival or event which makes it such that I cannot walk through a public space (park, street, etc.) without paying. If it's a public space I should be able to walk through without any admission.

I certainly meant no hate or disrespect with what I posted about the younger generations. Just was really a personal observation more than anything. I have a ton of respect for what we/they have to experience in this brave new world we live in. It can be scary, overwhelming, difficult, etc... I have hope for the future of our society, but things like what happened last week in Virginia just makes me realize that it won't be such an easy road, either. Nothing is easy, really. We all just have to persevere

Looks like my father has it. He's going in tomorrow for a biopsy to confirm, but the early prognosis is that it's aggressive. The long term outlook is not sounding good.

He used to smoke back when I was a young nipper, but that was some 40+ years ago.

Very sorry man, cancer is the worst. And man it's hard sometimes to see people that smoke a pack a day continue life rather unscathed, while those who haven't done it in years or never have get hit. Cancer doesn't play favorites. Screw that m'fer.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. I watched my maternal grandfather go out from Lung Cancer (he smoked his whole life, so that was no shock), & it sucked.

Two cancerous areas: One is the size of a marble, but the other is the size of an avocado. Doesn't sound like either can be safely removed. He sees the Oncologist next week to discuss options, but it sounds like it is really just a question of whether/by how long they can extend his remaining time.

The health care system in this country. My wife was having sharp pains on her right lower abdomen, shes much tougher than I am so if shes laying around because of pain I know its serious. In an area known for its hospitals we made it to an mostly empty emergency room at 9:30pm and promptly around 2:45am she saw a doctor. Affordable and efficient!
