Elo's rendering aside, the flaming car is a nice touch.

Oh, that's real.

Where was that photo taken again, I think it was in the Southeast US, but can't remember which state?

Pretty sure that was Atlanta last winter when they got that freak ice/snow storm in the middle of the day that made people's commutes home like 3-6 hours.

Was actually Raleigh, NC.

There was a storm the week before in Atlanta and one of the pictures also included a flaming car. How bad do you have to be at driving in snow for your car to just burst into flames?

The idiot probably just redlined his engine thinking he would eventually get traction.

The only thing worse than being behind an extreme couponer at the store is being behind one who can't read their fucking coupons right. Just watched a woman get all indignant when they expected her to pay full price for 35 bottles of mouthwash.

The sprinkler system for my house was clearly installed through a combination of professional work and DIY from the prior owner.

This morning, a section of the DIY work burst because of the cold weather, spraying water everywhere (entirely outside at least). That's the second time this has happened this year. Improper installation and insulation is a real bitch.

43 extreme couponing story reminded me of a recent thing that happened at a grocery store

bare with me if this verges on cool story bro territory

so Safeway up here had this store promotion running up until a couple weeks ago ... for every $10 you spend they give you a sticker and you collect the stickers and you can redeem for Henckel knives ... they give you a booklet and you put the stickers in it ... my kids loved that shit ... kept them occupied an extra 5 minutes per day sticking them in the book :thumb:

anyhoo, my parents and my inlaws shop at safeway too (SAFEWAY SCORE AND WIN FOR THE WIN~!!!!) but didnt collect the stickers. At first my family didnt collect them either but then my parents on both sides started giving my kids the stickers and before long the book was filled ... 150 stickers ... you needed 70 stickers for a four inch vegetable knife ... awesomesauce ... 2 FREE KNIVES!!!

So i go redeem the stamps and the clerk is processing it and scanning the booklet and says do you still want the extra 10 stamps you are left with back ... and i say naw ... you can keep them or give them to someone else

outta no where this older lady who had gone through the checkout before me immediatley chimes in can i have them? I say sure ... and hand her the booklet and she starts peeling off the 10 extra stamps ... she has fat fingers and her finger nails look like they have been chewed to hell ... raw and red looking ... i felt a little nauseous ... anyways its taking her forever and she starts making small talk ... asking me what i was gonna do with 2 knives ... and I tell her Im going to give them to my kids and they will have a knife fight in the back yard

she doesnt laugh and says "I figured you were going to give one to your wife and one to your mistress"

wha?

before I respond a lady behind me in line says "how fuckin rude are you?" and she reaches in front of me and grabs the stamp booklet away from her and she says "you dont deserve this" (not you dont deserve this as in directed towards me - I dont deserve being talked to like that BUT as in you dont deserve the free stamps lady - lol)

so i said to the clerk ... "can i get those knives now?"

Is it possible that the "wife and mistress" comment was dry humor or was she just rude and or insane?

You mean my father-in-law.

I'll second this...my father-in-law as well. even his grandkids hate him..I don't really think his own son and daughter (my wife) like him. I think they love him, like a child loves a parent. But I don't think they like him.... I certainly don't!
