Because you're a caring person who loves his wife and family?

/This post brought to you by Hallmark©

To be clear - My wife and *my* family. :thumb:

Actually, it was a rhetorical question. I know why I am doing it. The pickup hockey game with my family on Saturday. My 8 year old is playing with us. I expect her to slash at least 2 of her cousins.

Just annoying to me that I am driving 7 hours to miss dinner and have most of my wife's family skip out to go to stores that are always there. We're not always there.

The Coyotes have struggled with the curse of never being bad enough. Picking from #7-#13 won't get you a ton of slam dunk offensive guys. I was curious so I looked at their history.

96- 11, 24 (Daniel Briere 1st, Robert Esche 6th)
97- 43 (no first rounder) (No significant names)
98- 14 (No significant names)
99- 15 (No significant names)
00- 19 (Ramzi Abid 3rd)
01- 11 (Steve Belanger 7th)
02- 19, 23 (Ben Eager 23rd overall)
03- 77 (no first or second)
04- 5 (Blake Wheeler; Daniel Winnik in 9th)
05- 17 (Marty Hanzal 1st, Keith Yandle 4th)
06- 8, 29 (Peter Mueller 8, Chris Summers 29th overall)
07- 3, 30, 32, 36 (Kyle Turris 1st)
08- 8, 28 (Mikkel Boedker 8th overall, Michael Stone 3rd)
09- 6 (Oliver Ekman-Larsson 6th overall)
10- 13, 27 (No significant names)
11- 20 (Connor Murphy 1st)
12- 27 (No significant names yet)
13- 12 (No significant names yet)
14- 12 (No significant names yet)

That's ugly. '07 especially. 4 picks in the first 36 and they got Turris, who they spent a 3rd overall on. Drafting, and draft position, is important. They're not good at either.

They've drafted better since 04 but the problem is they weren't able to sign Blake Wheeler, while they ended up trading Kyle Turris and getting very little of significance in return - those are two forwards they could have really used

Their problem too is signing washed up veterans who bring nothing to the table

They have drafted quality D men but I agree not enough top 5 picks and the forwards we have taken aren't top scorers.

Hard to sign good guys with no ownership I suppose

At first I was irritated that I had to work 12:30PM - 11PM on Thanksgiving day.

Then I came here. I'll take my peace, quiet and double time and a half.

How the hell did she end up with an Ubuntu laptop in the first place?

And she needs a "Verizon internet CD" to get online? What the hell kind of internet is she using that Verizon needs to send a tech support person out to her house?

I would imagine the Verizon CD is the driver for a USB cell modem or USB mifi device.

You know what's a real bitch? Anxiety. Brains are weird.

Brain: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
You: "What? What is it?!"
Brain: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
You: "Brain, we're literally sitting on the couch, why are you freaking out?"
Brain: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
You: "Brain, you're freaking me out now, what is it?"
Brain: "AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
You: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

The weather

It's been cloudy for a week straight other than yesterday and it feels like it gets colder every winter to the point where I become absolutely depressed in the winter

I want to move to a climate that's warm 12 months out of the year - I don't like cold weather anymore and I don't know how people can live in it

Ryan Lambert and his troll articles on Puck Daddy. I guess Wysh just keeps him around for web hits and doesn't care about credibility.

Well the good news is that gets better as you get older.

Just kidding, it never gets better. It might get worse.

At times my heat hasn't been coming on*. It is usually on but at times will just stop working.

After giving it a few days and after waking up to a 60 degree** house last week we called a repair service at 6:30 am which told us they would be out that morning. At 4pm when the guy showed up the heat was back on and he said he would just be guessing why it turns off so he didn't do anything but assured my wife that someone could be out quickly next time it happened and catch it in inaction!

Friday night I got home to a 59 degree house. We immediately called and there was confusion on the phone and they had no one to send but they told us to call the next day. Heat came back on an hour or so later.

This morning it was off again so I called at 6:30. I was told they would be out in the morning. Then they called to say 1-3, then they called to say 'you're up next!'. Then the tech called and asked if the heat came back on, and when I said yes he told me he might be able to come out tomorrow morning. Nope, not doing that.

So to summarize, 1 day of work missed for each my wife and me, $79 paid for the first visit. And we still have intermittent heat.

*Furnace heat, not 'in the bedroom heat'

** cold shower floor! cold toilet seat!
