That is good for literally no one, including the people who elected her. Why would they do that?

I really have no fucking clue and am in complete agreement. Harry Reid the same....pretty sure he was reassigned to his post, too. :L

There went the last hope that the next two years might be different.

Although it is often a part of my job to deal with the mental/emotional side of injuries, I couldn't do that job...so bless you, haha. Unless you mean PT, in which case we likely hear a lot of the same stuff. Always good for a laugh when my athlete's open their mouths, hah.

actually im an OT, but yeah......if you dont mind me asking, what do you deal with

Ahhh, the intricate stuff (that I'm not the biggest fan of, haha). I'm an ATC at a D3 college. D3 athlete's aren't the sharpest kids out there ;) I work with womens soccer, wrestling, and softball. The one I'm complaining about is a softball player who is in no way a college athlete, which just makes doing her rehab more frustrating...because even if healthy she wouldn't be starting or playing at all. *sigh*

It really is idiotic. The voters spoke out with the election by making a statement w/ the changes in office (I like to think so at least), and those elected officials responded by putting the same arrogant assholes in office that lead to zero reform. The egos of elected officials are so incredibly inflated it's no wonder the capitol building has a big dome...it's for their heads. Compromise hasn't existed in centuries it seems.

I just...I need to vent, and I can't do it on social media, so...congrats SportsHoopla, you're my therapist. So, we have a policy at my university (as they do at pretty much all) that athletes have to take a baseline Impact test to participate in athletics. It's important because if a kid gets a concussion, we need that baseline to compare their post-injury results to. So, a bunch of my kids didn't do it for wrestling, and it slipped through the cracks. So, in order to participate they have to do it. I've been telling the one kid (who is a starter) that he needs to do it for over a week now. And tonight, after my FOURTH email to him, he responds snottily saying he has a big test and a project and he can't do it before practice tomorrow.......as if I didn't tell him about this a week ago. a;lsdjf;alsdjfopqiuerpoiquweproiu IT TAKES THIRTY FREAKING MINUTES KID.

Coach 43 here; I would sit his ass. Starter or not. And if he gets an attitude with me, I call him out in front of the team for letting them down by not living up to his responsibilities. Teammates giving you shit because you can't find 30 minutes? Goes a long way.

I know that's not your call, but you can make sure the coach knows.

Au contraire, it is my call. I need to nut up and tell him he's out, honestly. It just...really pisses me off. He can run his guts out on the treadmill, do abs til he pukes, and ropes til his hands burn, just can't wrestle. Only reason I'm hesitant is because he's a senior, and he DID do it his freshman year...the system just lost the file. It's simply the matter of the fact that I told him a week ago, and I warned of repercussions.

EDIT: I realize I'm a pansy with this stuff, although I assure you I don't waffle when it comes to return to play stuff. I'm simply too sympathetic.

If you have that power, pull that trigger. Leave it to the coach to call him out though :)

Coach has been in every email too, since the first one. Buhhhh. This is why I'm not management (aka head AT) material (yet). Gotta learn to be okay with confrontation.

so after i had mentioned in a thread on here last week that i was going in for my colonoscopy, the doctors office called and said it was just a consultation from the specialist at this point

so i go yesterday and he explains everything and puts to rest some of my fears (which had been piqued after Elliotte Friedman mentioned in his last 30 thoughts that his cousin had a diverticulitis attack and after a colonoscopy it ended up being colon cancer)

he says Im classified as urgent for the colonoscopy since they like to do the look see within 6 to 8 weeks of a diverticulitis attack ... so he wishes me well and tells me to talk to reception to start the booking process. so I take 2 steps out of the office (small office) and the receptionist says "I know you are classified as urgent but right now Im booking for March and April of 2015"

:ohwell:

We have excellent health care in Canada provided that you live long enough to receive treatment.

Down here, we get the added benefit of nearly bankrupting ourselves provided we live long enough to get treatment. :thumb:

That's good he reassured you in some aspects but sucks about the wait.

"Its urgent we check you out, try to relax and not think about it for 6 months."

My wife had a mole on her arm from when she was a kid that suddenly began hurting and growing. Her primary care doctor told her it was a big cancer risk and referred her to a dermatologist. Any dermatologist she could find could not see her for at least 5 months. So she was told it might be cancer but needed to wait 6 months. Nice! Luckily she got an appointment in about a month but it was outside her insurance and she had to pay.

Yah i came out of it re-assured ... I had the stupidity of thinking to myself as I took 2 steps towards reception to make sure they dont schedule it in the next 2 weeks because of a project at work Im deep into lol

the doctor said i can start drinking booze again ... but stay away from coffee ... which was kinda surprising but im ok with it :thumb:

Some of that packaging just might save a child's life.
