I never heard of him or that song. I was amazed that this song is from 1983. To me it just sounds older than that.

I don’t know if it was ever confirmed but didn’t the psycho that shot up the McDonald’s in San Ysidro California place a boom box down while playing this song and started shooting people?!?

/I hate this song always brings me back to that memory

I did not know the background behind that tragic incident.

I hadn't heard that before, so I went and looked at Wikipedia and It doesn't mention it. The guy realized he was cracking and called for mental health services. They never called him back.

I remember that day. Way back when that type of thing was shocking.

Yeah that was the summer before my senior year. Was at my girlfriends house hanging out at her pool, when her mother came out and told us about it. I’ll never forget that day either

I did find this so it was bullshit

There was something about the song "The Warrior" being played during the shooting.. Not sure if that was an urban legend or not.

That doesn't seem to add up, however, since the song was released in August of 84 and the Mcdonalds shooting happened in July.

Spoiler since its not definitive and its bad memories for sbb122 ... but it does mention a headline that was in the National Enquirer and that that might be why people think the song Warrior was played during the shooting

I have had this in my head the last few days, sounds slightly different than the one I hear on the radio though.

That was the first big one I remember. I was just a few years younger so it did not stick with me so much as some later ones did.

Ah, back in the glory days when fake news was only available in supermarket checkouts.

there are a couple of documentaries about it ... I think one is on netflix as an episode on one of those true crime-ish anthology series but I forget the name ... I come across those and always have to do a quick "do I really want to watch that?" inner question... more times than not I pass :noidea:

Another one is called "77 minutes"

it has changed so much.. it is was more frequent now and falls out of the news faster even with so much social media.
