Of all the years of watching Pitt basketball, I've never felt as good about a team. I won't be getting my hopes up...because they could end up beat up, or just choke as usual (and their Achilles heel is obvious to most by now), but I'm cautiously optimistic for a Final Four run.

They could win a game in the tourney.

indeed sir

Morehead State will probably be a really low seed so their hopes of winning a game in the tournament depends on who they play

I don't think Purdue or Notre Dame are really that good so I'd give Morehead State a shot against them

Morehead State gave Florida a scare earlier this year.

posted this on the Nebraska board but how the fuck is Michigan even considered for a tournament bid

they have a lot of bad losses

and their best win is either

Michigan State? Clemson? Harvard? Oakland?

when Harvard is close to being considered your best win, that is pretty bad

Clemson and Memphis also have a lot of bad losses and in Clemsons case no good wins

Memphis has at least some good wins but they ruined all those by losing to ECU, Rice and UTEP in losing 3 of their last 4

but MWC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

San Diego State or BYU!

this right here is why I'm hoping for some upsets in the conference tournaments

teams like Michigan and Clemson have no business in the tournament and after today Michigan State doesn't have much of a case either.

How Michigan St. could possibly be in the tournament is mind boggling. They're barely over .500 & 1-8 against top 25 teams. It's one thing to play a tough schedule, however teams should actually have to win some games to be considered.

Yeah I really hope the selection committee isn't listing to this idiotic stuff the media is spewing out because there's no way teams like Michigan, Michigan State or Clemson should be in

Memphis is gone now

VCU is beating George Mason right now, hopefully they win the Colonial to take one of these terrible teams out.

I actually don't mind ND as much in basketball. At least they're in a conference. And they could swipe that 4th #1 seed.

No kidding! I didn't get to watch. Had to listen to Tom Hudson on the radio.

Hudson calls a good game. Sacre's slam was probably the best part of the game because at that point you knew Gonzaga had it won. The foul trouble sure had Rob Jones flustered, I've never seen him have such a bad game. Glad to see the Zags take it to St. Mary's inside to get their big guys in foul trouble. It's obvious that this year's St. Mary's team just didn't have the guys capable of handling Sacre and Harris down low. That Stockton is going to be a special player.

Awesome to see Sacre holding up that trophy! :first:

From what I could gather from the radio, the 12 point bulge was mainly at the line. Game was closer than the final score is what I concluded.

Yeah the game was close throughout. Gonzaga didn't start pulling away until both Jones and Young fouled out. After that they couldn't stop Gonzaga down low allowing them to get the lead. Then they had to foul and thankfully Gonzaga is better shooting free throws this year than they have been in previous years. They were able to close it out.

Got to give a lot of credit to Mark Few as well. During the early part of the season and during the 3 game conference losing streak when the Zags were really struggling, he didn't panic, he didn't blow things up, he was calm and stayed with his system and his work is finally paying off. Bennett may have been coach of the year, but Few bettered him tonight.
