Can't believe these idiots on Hatteras who stayed and are now stranded. Hope they are paying for their exit out of there.
Flying internet memes aside, it should be noted that the "extreme" threat level in New Jersey isn't actually because of the hurricane; rather it's that if you are in the colored area, you are in New Jersey and that's a terrible thing.
Well apparently the NVMC is still standing. I guess hoping for a direct hit on it while leaving everything else alone didn't work.
Lost it once for about 10 seconds then had lots of flickers. So I got pretty lucky with that. It was out a few hours a couple weeks ago.
That's actually really impressive if you still live in the area I think you do. They must have done some serious upgrades to the infrastructure over the years.
I have been in my house 10 years and oddly enough I have lost power a lot more recently than my first 5 or so years. I lost it for 3 hours in a mild storm a few weeks ago so I was really surprised that I didn't in Irene.
Huh..
Well don't move to Bel Air or any of the new neighborhoods along Route 7. Power goes out when people sneeze. I figured over where you were it was the same story.
