For your next assignment drive down the highway with your hand out the window through a tornado and get us an accurate wind speed reading. Could be invaluable info. :thumb:

That seems high, take a few more readings if you can. And wear some goggles.

It almost seems like you guys are intentionally trying to put me in harm's.... HEY! ;)

Well, at the end of the day, just some steady rain where I am. Not bad at any point really. I'm sure over by the coast the rain is really heavy, but just some heavy drizzle most of the day here and the wind has been constant and high, but not super intense.

I wonder, will all the wind and rain and surge hitting New Jersey make it less toxic?? :D

All joking aside, I noticed a couple hours ago about 5 tornado warnings in the Philly area.

It seems like fatalities have been really low. A few trees hitting houses, that kind of thing.

I wonder if fewer people actually die in a storm like this than an average day b/c you have so few people on roads (which would cause a number of fatalities on a normal day), people not doing strenuous activity outside, etc. Obviously it is worse if the storm were more extreme and more property damage clearly. But I wonder if fewer fatalities will happen this weekend than a normal weekend on the East Coast.

Winds definitely picking up now that most of the rain has passed.

Been pretty lucky here so far, been really windy and rainy and the worst is an hour away from what I hear. The power went out once for a few seconds and has blinked but not gone out 20 times or so. The common area between my backyard and the backyard of the house behind me has been a solid stream for hours. My sump pump is going off every two minutes or so, so hopefully power stays on.

I wonder if CFL bulbs blink quicker than others, numerous times tonight those bulbs have blinked while others and TVs and suck have stayed on.

So far I've only heard 1 death as a result of a car accident.

As for the building collapse, it was an old chinese restaurant in da hood in north philly. Everyone got out in time.
