So, what do you know on the guitar?

i'm just working on memorizing chords...i got G, A, C, D, and a few others, but my issue with music is changing chords...i can't do it, and i know it just takes perseverance, but it's soooo hard to accomplish.

Do you know actual notes? I learned how to play classical guitar before I learned chords. Made the whole chords easier for me. But yeah, it takes time to master chord changes. It'll come with time, just stay with it.

to learn how to switch chords just start with easy ones. like d and a minor. your fingers are in the same place, just a different position on the guitar. that was you do not have to focus on that weird feeling when you try to change chords and your fingers do not know where to go. pick an easy song after you learn some simple chords. free falling by tom petty is pretty easy. you might need a capo though.

Yep. Look for ways to keep fingers in the same place insted of having to move more than you actually need to

then it gets easier. as soon as you learn a few changes the others get easier. i do not play much guitar although i learned in about a month or 2. just some easy songs and song with cool riffs.

i do have a capo, and i've tried a few easier songs (ones with just the major chords ya know) and i'm just sooooo slow! gah, it's a problem i have, if i'm not good from the start i tend to give up. i'll keep to it though.

You can always jam out on the bass, and take the line for a walk.

i originally wanted to take up bass (because...well, it's easier) but, i figured that if i take the time to get the guitar down the bass will just be a cake walk.
