Corey Hart was a Jack Zduren (fuck it im not gonna try and spell his name - the gm guy) draft pick ... They werent happy with Smoak at times last year either (ie Ackley) ... Im sick of the NL guys coming over ... Everyone they sign reminds me of Jeff Cirillo

saw Steve Phillips say they might be looking at Jose Bautista ... David Prices agent said he would want to re-sign with any team that trades for him EXCEPT THE MARINERS so thats dead ... I see they are in on Hamels and Cliff Lee( - hey I remember you!)

but why are they looking at ace pitching when they have no outfielders who can produce ... they wanna lose more 2 - 1 games i guess

Smoak and/or Morales will be on the block now, I imagine. I want the Pirates to be in on Smoak if that's the case.

I'm hoping these moves improve the market for Ike Davis. The Brewers have been interested in Davis but were waiting on Corey Hart's decision. Hopefully this gets the ball rolling on a Davis to the Brewers deal. Ike hit 32 home runs in 2012 and he's only 26. I think if he can escape the New York media and get out of his own head he can return to form and be an unbelievably productive power bat.

Well, I just had a fun afternoon. There was a small fire in the plant where I work, and I got to stand outside in the freezing cold with no coat for the past hour.

Everyone in the plant now gets to go home, except for us in the offices and the managers. Ugh.

It's still smokey, and freezing in here. Plus it stinks.

Thankfully no one was hurt, and not too much damage to the area.

The Mariners are just throwing money at anyone and everyone and hoping it works out. It's a terrible strategy. Hart was a great move...LoMo wasn't depth, it's a log jam. I know some teams thought he could be put in the OF, but I doubt that. It's the Yankee way of trying to deal with things, and in today's MLB, it doesn't work. I have a feeling they're looking to move Smoak, which is great. For the most part I'm just mad because they just screwed over the Pirates by causing the 1B market to inflate dramatically. You didn't NEED ALL THE 1B.

People won't like the comparison, but I played softball and was a catcher, and we couldn't truck people at the plate...and guess what, it didn't affect the game. So, in the interest of fewer injuries, I'm for this. I never liked that when the ball beat the player to the plate, the run was then based on if the baserunner could brutally remove the ball from the catcher's grasp.
