I thought Wilson Alvarez did it against the Orioles but it turns out it was his second major league start.

In 2002 56 year old nun Sister Mary Patrick threw out the first pitch at Camden Yards. It was a strike with some heat on it so the visiting Cleveland Gladiators (needing fresh arms due to 2 double headers that week) gave her a one game contract. She carried a no hitter into the 7th where Marty Cordova got a bloop single.

I can see the Padres getting in. I don’t think they’ll lose their wild card position. As for the Yankees they will not catch Boston or TB. So that leaves the last wild card and they have 3 teams right on their heels and 2 ahead of them. In short, fuck the Yankees. Lol

/fuck Boston too
Well so much for the Yankees not catching the Red Sox. I’ll leave the predictions up to somebody else lol

Mariners are 64-56 now. Relevant in August. Doesn’t happen often.

They are amazingly bad. I do not really care because they were not going to be good this year no matter what and the farm system is improving which was a priority.....but wow. They do not need to be historically bad.

If they do not take a big step forward next season people are not going to be happy.

Yeah especially in that division. Too many good teams that go out of their way to spend/get better the O's need a quick turn around.

Look on the bright side since the All-Star break at least the O's reached 10 wins unlike a certain team in Pittsburgh. :L

Hey, at least the last couple of games were competitive against another moneybags team, so there's hope. :L

True, but now a 13 game losing streak to make everyone smile. Being in that division is part of the issue. Its always going to be hard when they play 1/4 of their games against the Yankees and Red Sox but they need to be better. Far better.

Not only can they outspend everyone, it seems other teams covet their prospects more at the trade deadline.

During that 14 game streak the Pirates are 1-13. You know your team sucks when they can't even suck the worst. :)
The 13 games they lost they have a -49 run differential and have to go and blow it, winning 14-4 in their only win.

Meh. they're still competitive. That comes to less than a 3-run differential per game over those 14 games.

I'm sure they'll be back to over .500 in about 20 years again.

Man you are the eternal optimist thinking they will be competitive in 20 years.

Anyone have a manager for sale? I don't think Charlie Montoyo knows what he's doing any better than Al Montoya would as a baseball manager.
