I like your beard.
Is there a team who took a quicker heel turn than the Royals? Lovable last year to despicable this year. Their team mentality with HBP is archaic.

Home plate umpire mismanaged the entire situation, pix. If you give out a warning, then you have to enforce it. Donaldson post-game said that he didn't think the warning was warranted, but once it's out there., you can't let the same guy throw at Donaldson again without tossing him.
The problem s how do you discern intentional hits from accidental ones? And in the realm of the exact opposite was how the umps handled the Pirate game. Warnings are dumb, sooooo dumb. They need to reevaluate the system.

I agree, but I also saw the Dbacks (or bags, whichever) throw at a batter in retaliation for a clearly unintentional HBP so maybe pitchers and managers just to need figure out how not to be fucking terrible human beings.I think more times than not, if you have a functioning brain and you're watching the game, you'll know when it's intentional or not when you consider the game situation and the pitch that gets thrown

Lovable last year?
Yep, players tend to overblow a situation and they think every HBP is intentional
For example, I think Jose Bautista is a real good player, but he's such a whiny ass - he's always complaining about something and he made Ned Yost's comments sound as if they were disrespectful - he was merely saying that the Jays lean in a lot(which there isn't that much wrong with) and that you have to work them inside in order to get them out and that it can be difficult sometimes if they are leaning in - that's no different than anyone else in the league - but then Joey Bats turned it into a bigger issue and said he lost respect for him, which is stupid for a comment like that

Yeah, I would much rather not see 95 mph fastballs being lobbed at people's bodies. The DBacks one last year was the worst I had seen. Inside pitch clips Goldy's hand, breaks a bone. It sucks, but that's part of the game. It was also a horrible pitcher who threw it. Then they waited until the end of the game the NEXT DAY to hit Cutch square in the back. First off: someone will be severely hurt one of these days, and the MLB will look dumb. In that case it was a manager who was a terrible human being, because you'll note the DBacks aren't as idiotic this year. It's hard when a team throws inside with regularity to determine intent, it is...but retaliation is obvious. When after a game a player (looks at Byrd) mentions how it stems from the game the night before, it's intentional. I still contend that penalties outside of the game would calm things down. It'll never disappear of course, because testosterone, that's why.

So I had read Yost's comments but hadn't actually seen video of him saying them until right now and he just looks like a smug pompous POS. Kinda get where Bautista's coming from now.
That's great and all but can he play C and does he have a dedicated offseason training regimen that doesn't involve donuts and fishing?Brendan Kennedy @BKennedyStar
