I'm assuming your a guitar player. I've spent all morning looking for some accessories to spruce up my strat. Also looking for a good pickup combo (HSS), to get away from the stock sound. So far I am pretty set on going with a DiMarzio setup, a MoJoe DP216 in the bridge, Fast Track DP181 in the mid, and a Cruiser DP186 in the neck. I still need to do a little more research to make sure all 3 will mesh good together without sacrificing any tone...

Figured it would be cool to get a guitar thread going... and again I am assuming you are a guitar player judging by your sig, hope I am not making myself look like a fool. If you are, what is your set up, if you don't mid me asking?

"my set up" is a pretty tough question from day to day. :D
this is most of them. (missing a strat, an airscreamer, a 49 Gibby lapsteel from the pic)

I tend to keep guitars fairly stock, and my #1 your be the Tokai Love Rocks (the LP shaped one). It's kind of a '58 replica. #2 is the tele. It's a Classic Vibe series... have you tried those? they are terrific little guitars. That one is just tweaked with Glendale Bridge and saddles, and a bakelight pickguard.
coincidentally, I do have a loaded pickguard on the way to swap into the brown strat with the back guard. That's an old Yamaha pacifica (my first electric), and this thing is such a tank, I think it deserves an upgrade. That thing will stay in tune for months, has a great neck on it. just a real jem. Its also HSS configuration, and the PG I have on its way has SD Pearly Gates humbucker, and Texas Specials as the single coils. I'm looking forward to trying that sound out.

Nice, I can't see your pic cause I'm at work and they block everything. Haven't played the Classic vibe tele, but I'm a strat person. I just like the setup and the sound a strat gives off when combining pickups. Not really into the twang sound. Not that theres much difference when you play with high gain, but... What's your style of choice? I play a little jazz/blues and a lot of metal (weird on a strat), but I'm really focused on progressive rock right now. Trying to find a good DiMarzio or Seymour setup to create that 80's prog rock/metal sound, without mixing companies. A lot of people suggest combining the two, but I just hate that concept.

here's the missing pieces from the family portrait

this isn't mine, but it's exactly like it (haven't changed a thing). I liked the quality of the Classic Vibe 50s tele so much, that I picked up the very next Classic Vibe Strat that came along.

and here's just another pic of the tele, because i think it looks cool.
It's much lighter in color than this, I just took this shot in the sunset.

This is exactly what I have right now. But I wanna slap some chrome knobs and tip on there, thinking about a red mirror pickguard and backplate... I just hate white, looks so generic.

there's some more pics to check when you get home. :D

I think I am more an LP kind of guy. That crunch when you dig in just makes my pants tight every time. Tele # 2, as I love the simplicity of it, and I tend to play with dirt most of the time so the twang kind of gets lost in the fuzz.

style of choice, is basically simple stuff that allows you to noodle like a maniac. So something like Neil Young's Cortez the Killer would be an ideal song to play. early ZZ Top is fun, Stones are usually a good choice (Dead Flowers, Sister Morphine, etc). The group I play with most often has a wide array of abilities (keep the rhythm guitarist to 3 or 4 chords, most of them should be majors :L ), and our singer is our singer because he can't play any instrument (but he's a walking pharmacy). So he tends to like to do Tom Petty, Stooges, Clash kind of stuff, where melody and range come second to say.... enthusiasm.

Don't let anyone say that a strat can't be metal. If it's good enough for Adrian Smith, it's good enough for you. \m/

Iron Maiden is the shit :D. Didn't even see this post before. Yea, there's tons of guys who use strats in metal bands. Even extreme metal, but it doesn't fit in, not that I care, I love the feel of a fender strat. Only "metal" type guitar I enjoyed playing was the Jackson Soloist, which I dont have the money to blow on right now. I need a new amp BAD. I play this beautiful guitar through a shitty crate, gives me so much feedback. I'm looking into possibly a Peavey Valveking tube combo. I figure just get this guitar sounding and looking the way I want, and get a decent amp, and I really dont need another guitar. Although there are a lot on my list :D.

look into the Traynor line of Amps. they are Canadian-made (always a good ting :D ), and very undervalued.
I recently picked up a Traynor YCV50Blue for under $400 - ironically bought it from a guy in New Hampshire.
All tube (EL34 + 12AX7), two-channel combo, it just rips. I don't know how loud you need to be, but I'd definitely recommend looking into the Traynor line-up to compare to Peavey.
the clean channel rings like a bell, and the dirty sounds to me kind of like there's a Rat in front of it.

I really want to get one of these, I had the pleasure of playing one once... B-E-A-utiful guitars. Blows Ibanez and Jackson out of the water, also blows your wallet into oblivion.

nice. I'm usually not a fan of those shredder lookin' guitars.
that headstock could be a weapon!

here's my dream guitar, the R9 Les Paul.
this one is modeled after Billy Gibbon's 'Pearly Gates'

Thats a real sweet looking strat Jeff. I wouldn't change the pick guard for nothing. It brings out the beauty of the wood grain nicely. Myself, I own a sunburst Strat deluxe, a Washburn circa 1983 or so, a Taylor accoustic, an Epiphone accoustic, and a 50 year old classical which I think is a Suzuki. Sorry, no pics

I dunno, I'm up in the air. Def can't wait to change out the pickups tho. DiMarzio really creates a whole new sounding guitar. Love the feel of the strat, hate stock pickups.
