A lot of crazy people in the world. From what I have seen he had a 45 cal and shot his former boss 3 times. 9 others was wounded and 1 other died. He was then shot by police that fired 14 rounds.

I am wondering if the some of the injured or killed was from police bullets as well.

In any case a terrible waste of life due to a crazy person.

Former disgruntled employee. I expect to see more of this kind of thing. People are fed up with the GREED of the few. Most are just trying to survive. Taking action on the few is going to become the norm, now & in the future.

I doubt it. Most people don't have it in their hearts to murder someone, much less over a job.

Being fired is no justification to murder someone. People have become such bitches. Let your balls drop and go find another fucking job. Either that or challenge them to a fucking duel, not fire at them point blank when they aren't expecting it.

You changed your mind about what exactly? And what caused your mind to change? Was it something you saw in the video?

The 1st time I watched it I was a bit confused. It looked like 1 of the policeman was pointing his gun elsewhere but it's not very clear so after watching it again I think I was mistaken.

I changed my mind on the cops.

If you watch the vid you will see that both policemen walkd up to a ARMED man who just shot and killed someone with thier guns holstered. They should have both had guns out and aimed directly at the gunman. Instead when they started to bark at the guy he pulls his gun and you can see them both back off, separate, draw and spam fire at him.

If they had thier weapons drawn they would have had the target aquired and more likely would have been able to reduce the number of innocent people hit by spam bullets. The cop on the left clearly just pulls and starts firing in the general direction of the gunman and the cop on the right follows his lead. This is what led to multiple people being injured.

Basically they are trained to handle this situation in one form or another and failed to use that training.

I relize as well that hindsight is 20/20 but this is basic stuff. On my orginal thought I was thinking that there was a substantial distance between the cops and the gunman. The encounter was at 10-15 ft. I can say with no hesitation that at 15 ft that I will drill 15 out of 15 into center mass when my weapon is already drawn and the target is aquired.

Instead of a controled incident the policemen made it a reaction incident by not doing what they are trained to do which cause innocent people to be injured (the shooting aspect anyways)

Either way, the amount of people injured could have been greater even though he had only two bullets remaining. However police are some of the worst when it comes to shooting under pressure... Which is real sad. A lot of studies show police firing way too soon putting numerous bullets in the ground before actually hitting the target.

I dont see it that way Jeff.

The gunman murdered his ex-boss and walked away. I am not sure how the number of people injured could get worse. I can only see how it should have been avoided. If they had the target aquired it would have resulted in less shots fired and more likely only impacts to the gunman. Reaction versus controlled.

Now to throw another thought into it.

Jeff,

What if that was you. You just watched a guy gun down someone and you are carrying. Let say for arguments sake you decide to engage this guy and you do the same thing the cops did. You reaction fire and wound 9 innocent people but also kill the gunman. Do you think the mayor would be claiming your a hero?

No. I'm also not a police officer. As corrupt as those fuckers are, I hold them with high regard and respect. Many people don't nowadays.

He had two remaining bullets, and he is a good shot. Got his boss 6 times in the head. That could have been two more civilian casualties, but the police took him out. I think police training is not as good as it should be, and that these accidents shouldn't happen, but when they do, it is a part of the world we live in. When you are in congested areas, you run the risk of crazy shit like this going down.

Apparently the cops who came up to the guy didnt know about the shooting. A construction worker who saw it and followed the killer started shouting to stop him when he saw the cops.

Agreed. I do not dislike LEO at all. Terribly hard job to do each and every day. In any case I still think that they could have handled the situation much better causing less injuries.

There's one difference. Back then when one civilization fought another they didn't have the ability to wipe out all of humanity.

If the United States & a few other nations decided they wanted to take over the World. The World would be in BIG TROUBLE. Fear of this keeps a lot of people in line.

I know exactly where that is. Used to drive past it every day on my way to work, and Mrs 43 used to teach a mile or two from there. I imagine some of her former students go there now. Wow. That's a pretty nice area. Probably pretty close to Comeds, if I remember right.

Holy crap, first day of school, too. WTF?

The world HAS changed. It's far less violent now compared to most of history.

I agree with you. It just seems crazier because of the 24 hour news-a-palooza. Not a blanket statement for all places, but on the whole, much more civilized.

Its probably about a mile away from me. Its a nice area and a good school. These things can happen anywhere I guess.

You are correct, comeds...Another disgruntled worker apparently.

NEW YORK - An early-morning shooting at a Pathmark supermarket in New Jersey has left at least three people dead, including the suspected gunman, local media said on Friday.

Shots were heard inside the supermarket in Old Bridge, about 35 miles from New York City, just before 4 a.m. EDT as employees were preparing to open the store for business, said the local ABC television affiliate.

Police found two windows bashed in, the station reported.

Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry described the suspected shooter as a disgruntled worker, the Star-Ledger newspaper said.

"This is the worst phone call a mayor can receive," Henry told the newspaper. "You can prepare for these things but you can't prevent them."
