OT: Help needed.....Cancun. Tips, Suggestions Welcome.

i haven't i've been to cazumel a few times which was awesome. but i am sure cancun is awesome, do the all-inclusive trip thats the way to go.

I've been to Cancun and Cabo in Mexico. Both were real fun.

Don't do all inclusive Jack... I don't know if you are a picky eater like myself, but the quality was kind of poor in Cancun. I stayed at a decent place too. I prefer going out and dining. Unless you are going to binge drink, don't do all inclusive.

Also... If you are just going there to relax and soak up some sun then don't even listen to me, lol. But if you and the Mrs. like to adventure a little, definitely do the Chichen Itza pyramid tour. I enjoyed it ALOT. It also helps that I love pyramids and the history behind them. When I went they stopped at a water hole that was gorgeous. You drive through some pretty shitty villages to get there, but the scenery was awesome.

Agreed. All inclusive is what we always do. It cuts down on so many headaches.

Feel free to ask me anything bro. Mexico is a blast... I am just not sure how the government is handling things down there right now. I know for a while it was getting a little crazy down there for tourists and people visiting. Drug cartels and shit. But I did a lot when I was down there.

But right now I am off to get lunch, chicken parm... Mmmm...

The wife and I are planning a trip to Mexico for the first week of May and though we have traveled to many places...Mexico has not been one of the destinations.

Any and all insight about the location, local traveling, sight ideas, food etc..etc...would be greatly appreciated!

Actually.......all we plan on doing is to flat out r-e-l-a-x!

We don't have any plans to sight see or anything. We just want to do what we want to do when we want to do it.

If it's drinking all night, sleeping all day or lazying in the hot tub over looking the ocean....or whatever....whatever, but that's the whole plan of our trip.

If you stick your nose in anyone's business they are bound to take offense, so if you just pay close attention to your own surroundings and mind your own space....I don't believe that a person will have a problem anywhere, let alone Cancun.

Besides....it'll be hard to get mugged when we'll never leave the resort, right?? lol

I was just in Riveria Maya end of April. !st time all inclusive for me and was impressed. I kike all of the places except for 1. We went Zip lining which was a blast for adults and the kids. Stayed in Cancun about 10 years ago and did really like it there also. I am a beach and water fan big time so warm places are best for me!

Keep us near the beach and the water (ocean, pool, hot tub) and we're gold.

Beaches are alright. My next vacation, which wont be for a long time is definitely going to be like a secluded getaway in the middle of the jungle or some shit. I wanna go to like a massive waterfall in the middle of a jungle somewhere and stay somewhere like that. Hike during the day, find some real nice waterholes and maybe underwater caves and shit. I need to start looking into that, and factoring that into my budget after the fall.
