So let's start looking forward to 2016 shall we? Who does the GOP trot out there against Hilary? Christie and Rubio? Taking a state that is locked in blue and turning it red is a steal and having a massive swing state like Florida in your back pocket is the type of strategy that was nonexistent for them this time around. On second thought, let's not start talking politics 4 years away.

More than that, I think 2014 is a prime time for the "third parties" to get some people into local offices who can make a difference people can see and maybe, just maybe, open up some real discussion in this country.

And then offer a real alternative in 2016.

If they go into hiding and only trot out the sacrificial lamb in 2016, NOTHING will change. Ever.

If he had stopped only at not going to the White House...maybe. But he continued to spout off on his Facebook and refused to defend any of it.

Rejecting the WH invitation is a passive move. It requires no effort on your part. But as soon as you become active (posting to FB), the game is different.

My impression was that there were already news stories out about him declining before he put anything on Facebook. He didn't seem to attack anyone or anything directly, which is why I don't have an issue with it. I could be wrong, it's been a while since the Bruins were champs. ;)

I don't think it comes down simply to a Commerce Clause issue. Not a Constitutional scholar here, but I think that both the Necessary and Proper clause and to a much larger extent, the Supremacy Clause will come into play.

Those are going to be necessary because the Commerce Clause wouldn't apply if the entire industry (growth, shipment, sale, and consumption) all took place within the individual state.

The legality issue (and the Commerce Clause dispute) is overridden by the Supremacy Clause and the federal law declaring it illegal.

Actually, in Gonzales Vs. Reich(2005), the court ruled that Congress could overrule a state's laws on marijuana because growing it in the state affects the supply and demand of pot coming in from outside the state. It was the most ridiculous ruling I've ever heard of.

Yeah, I wouldn't put too much on the idea of changing color-locked states. Romney-Ryan didn't win either of their home states. FL maybe, with Rubio and the heavy Hispanic vote that might swing to red, but NJ, very improbable.
